Pico MES is a team of engineers and designers with a strong background in manufacturing, web development, hardware, and UX/UI design. We produce a web-based product which allows manufacturing engineers and technicians to create and manage their entire workflows within the factory. We also provide a distributed hardware system for integrating the hundreds if not thousands of devices on the factory floor. Ultimately our goal is simple: we like to build stuff - and we want to help others build their products with a tool that meets their needs. We're a team of technical experts and humble learners that understand what it takes to build a highly capable manufacturing line. And now we need your help as we evolve and improve each and every day.

Volta Labs was spun out of MIT in 2018 with the simple mission of building biological automation from the ground up. Volta is in the proximity of Kendall Square, known as "the most innovative square mile on the planet". Being part of the open biotech culture in Kendall Square made us realize that today’s biologists are held back by the limitations of existing automation tools. With DNA sequencing in particular, we observed that the advances in DNA readout technologies had moved further along than the advances in the upstream steps of preparing samples for sequencing (sample prep). ‍ What started out as a simple printed circuit board to manipulate colored droplets at the MIT Media Lab during co-founder Udayan Umapathi’s graduate work was quickly directed toward solving the “sample prep bottleneck”. The company raised Seed Funding from top VCs in 2019 and later that year added Will Langford as a co-founder and Head of Engineering. ‍ Since then, we have been heads down in the lab inventing and building novel fluidic and sample manipulation technologies. We take an anti-disciplinary approach to solve very hard problems and weave together instrumentation, fluidics, software, biology and chemistry. While our current focus is on sequencing sample prep, we envision a new approach where a single universal machine automates most biological workflows in genomics, proteomics and synthetic biology.

Construction is an industry built on change. With each new project, we change skylines, strengthen communities, and transform cities for the better.‍ But the reality isn’t always so simple. Between compliance and change orders, false starts and permit delays, the construction industry has a paperwork problem—especially when it comes to getting paid.‍ Cash flow is the lifeline of any contractor’s business, but billing is painful and slow. With so much manual work involved, a small, honest mistake can hold up millions of dollars in cash flow. And even when things go right, the time and effort it takes to get paid takes away from the work that really matters. We believe that when you free up payments, you free up people to take on whatever’s next. We started Siteline to give construction teams a financial foundation to build on. Because when people are on the same page about getting paid, they can focus on whatever's next—whether that’s a new idea, a new project, or more time with their family. We’re reimagining construction finance to help contractors get paid, grow their business, and build a better future for all of us.
