About RBR Since 1973, RBR has been designing and manufacturing oceanographic instruments in Ottawa, Ontario to measure our blue planet. The effects of climate change are being seen from the ocean’s abyss to the polar ice caps and our sensors quantify this change to support better analysis, improved planning, and more effective mitigation strategies. Our instruments measure water parameters in some of the harshest environments on the planet! They are mounted on underwater drones, dropped out of planes, and sent to the bottom of the ocean – sometimes for years at a time – all in an effort to get precise and accurate data to support climate research! We have been fortunate to be able to partner with some of the world's leaders in the field of ocean science, like Fisheries and Oceans Canada, The Scripps Institution of Oceanography, The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, The Norwegian Polar Institute, and The British Antarctic Survey, just to name a few!

Know your environment. Protect your health. Environmental Working Group (EWG) works to protect people from toxic chemicals – in their homes, food, tap water and everyday household products. We use unique expertise to gather and analyze mountains of data – on personal care products, household cleaners, processed foods, drinking water contaminants, agriculture damage – to expose risky practices, and products, confront manufactures and industries directly, and challenge the chemical status quo. Our signature shopping guides and databases push companies to make cleaner, greener products and give consumers the information they need to make safer choices today. Our teams in DC, San Francisco, Sacramento and Minneapolis go directly to lawmakers to educate them about these issues and push for the regulatory reforms we need. Alert Labs’ Insight series protects our customers’ properties by gathering and analyzing real-time data using attractive, reliable, and easy-to-install IoT hardware and software. Sensors can be installed by anyone in less than 2 minutes, and then they are on the alert for water leaks, floods, power issues, and more. Alert Labs monitors your water usage, power, heating/cooling, temperature, humidity, sump pump, and water softener. Customers receive real-time alerts to their smartphones for emergency events (e.g. a flood), and gain insight with long-term big data analytics (i.e. escalating water use or inefficient equipment) in order to avoid damage to their properties and to save money, hassle, and natural resources. Sensors are cellular, so no Wi-Fi is required. Battery back-up ensures sensors continue to monitor during a power outage. Our target audiences are property managers, landlords, cottage owners, and home owners.
