Role Overview:
We seek a skilled an Algorithm Engineer with expertise in processing and analysing multi-sensor data, particularly on accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers. The ideal candidate will implement sensor fusion algorithms to combine data from multiple sensors and transform complex motion, orientation, and magnetic field data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement efficient C-based data processing pipelines for multi-sensor data analysis
Develop sensor fusion algorithms to combine accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer data for precise orientation tracking
Create robust calibration procedures for sensor data
Implement advanced filtering techniques for noise reduction across all sensor types
Design and optimise algorithms for activity recognition and motion classification
Create validation procedures to ensure data quality across all sensors
Implement efficient data structures for handling multi-sensor datasets
Design visualisation tools for 3D orientation and movement analysis
Document methodologies and maintain technical documentation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
1+ years of experience in sensor data analysis
Strong understanding of accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer principles
Expert-level proficiency in C programming language
Experience with sensor fusion algorithms and techniques
Strong background in 3D geometry, transformations, and coordinate systems
Technical Skills
Programming: C (expert level)
Sensor Fusion: Complementary filters, Kalman filters
Mathematics: Linear algebra, quaternions, rotation matrices
Data Processing:
- Accelerometer: Linear acceleration, gravity compensation
- Gyroscope: Angular velocity, drift correction, rotation tracking
- Magnetometer: Magnetic field calibration, soft/hard iron compensation
Activity Recognition: Motion pattern analysis
Data Structures: Arrays, matrices, quaternion implementations
Visualization: 3D visualization tools
Experience in fitness tracker or wearable device development
Knowledge of advanced sensor fusion algorithms
Experience with large dataset handling and optimisation
