We are looking for Business Development Associates (BDAs) who can thrive on identifying and qualifying leads, building relationships, setting stretched financial goals, and celebrating with remuneration tied to performance.
You will be joining our growing business development team based in Mumbai, India. BDMs play a crucial role in outbound sales and generating predictable revenue. This role will primarily focus on prospecting, outreach, lead qualification, meetings, demos, and subtle but persistent persuasion. While you will play an independent role initially, your career can progress to building a sales team and heading our entire Sales division in Mumbai.

Being an BDM isn’t easy. It requires the resilience of an elephant. Handling numerous rejections, lack of responses via phone calls, SMS, and emails, and minimal engagement on social media posts can challenge even seasoned professionals. That's why you must bring your full expertise to bear every day to make a significant impact. Patience, persuasion, and a positive attitude are crucial for maintaining success in this role.
You will be based in Mumbai and have the option to work fully remotely. However, you will need to visit client sites as and when required (mostly within Mumbai or NCR region) and occasionally meet the rest of the business development team at our HQ in Bangalore, or travel to international client sites should the need arise. If you are among the few who do not like to leave your home, then this role may not be suitable for you. If you enjoy being out and about and meeting lots of people, then this is precisely the role for you.
Core responsibilities
These are absolute 'musts,' so please apply only if you have handled 'all' the responsibilities listed below. We are seeking hands-on, street-smart individual contributors. If your current role primarily involves managing a team of Sales Executives, then this position is not for you. Below are your core daily responsibilities.
Conduct outbound prospecting and create targeted contact lists for our products and services. An absolute prerequisite is that you bring an extensive contact network within the target segments (Banking, Insurance, NBFC, FinTech) to hit the ground running.
Conduct the initial discovery call and share your discovery memo with the team. You will be responsible for accurately scoping client needs, explaining how our products address those needs, and building a compelling proposition for clients.
Set up face-to-face meetings or demos with prospective clients. You will primarily handle these meetings yourself; however, for deeper technical discussions, you can involve our technical team. For large customers or complex deals, you can engage the founding team in client meetings and propositions.
You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with extensive experience in writing compelling proposals and context-specific solution documents or presentations to convince clients of our product fit.
Clients prefer not to speak with multiple people to get clarifications about our product. Therefore, you must be a subject matter expert (non-technical) with the confidence and skill to discuss the proposed solution with multiple stakeholders to close deals.
Follow up diligently to build strong relationships and provide weekly reports on sales progress to the founding team. You will in essence manage (hands-on) the end to end sales cycle before handing it over to the delivery team once the deal is closed.
