MOO is an international design & print company based in London, and founded in 2006. We are doing this through intelligent, modular DC (direct current) power distribution systems, IoT sensor fusion, and AI powered building automation software. The vast majority of electrical devices we use today are digital, and can only use DC power, but we continue to supply them with AC power. The conversion from AC to DC is typically an inefficient process that wastes energy into heat. This inefficiency, in the form of heat, can be felt by simply feeling any cell phone charger, laptop charger, or the base of any LED bulb. Through the combination of better power distribution with sensory data from indoor spaces, our technology can help buildings realize an average of 20% reduction in electricity use for lighting and HVAC systems. We target areas where we can save upwards of 15% in energy spending on lighting & HVAC systems. Our technologies make spaces more comfortable for tenants, increase energy performance for buildings, and make it easier to view and control all systems on a single software platform. We hold patents for one of the worlds most advanced DC power distribution systems. The hardware designed by Understory detects rain, hail, winds and other weather events directly at the Earth’s surface where the risk to life and property is greatest.
