Engineering Head (India)

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead our India team and scale our technical capabilities. This is a high-impact leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for driving engineering excellence, nurturing innovation, and building a world-class distributed engineering organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Scale: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team in India across backend, frontend, ML/AI, DevOps, and QA functions.

• Technical Vision: Partner with the CEO and leadership team to define and execute the engineering strategy that aligns with our vision of enabling eCommerce-like experiences for insurance.

• Architecture & Innovation: Guide architectural decisions for scalability, security, and performance. Champion modern engineering practices, ML/AI adoption, and platform-driven development.

• Execution & Delivery: Own delivery of core products and platform capabilities, ensuring high-quality, on-time releases with 99.99% availability.

• Culture & Ownership: Instill Uniblox’s culture of relentless execution, ownership, and customer obsession across engineering teams.

• Collaboration: Work closely with product management, data science, and design teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions for underwriting automation, census parsing, and enrollment experiences.

• Compliance & Security: Ensure engineering practices meet enterprise standards for security, SOC2 compliance, and data governance.

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles scaling SaaS platforms.

• Proven experience building and managing distributed engineering teams in high-growth startups or enterprise SaaS companies.

• Strong technical background in cloud-native architectures (AWS), microservices, APIs, ML/AI-driven products, and enterprise integrations (HRIS/BenAdmin platforms).

• Expertise in driving engineering excellence—test automation, CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization.

• Deep understanding of security best practices, compliance (SOC2, GDPR, HIPAA), and data protection in a multi-tenant SaaS environment.

• Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence at all levels—executives, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.

• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building 0→1 products and scaling them globally.
