About the Role
As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) with a technical background, you will play a crucial role in building our pipeline by connecting with prospective clients who can benefit from our cutting-edge developer tools. In this role, you will engage with potential customers—primarily VPs of Engineering and technical leaders—to understand their goals and challenges. You’ll leverage your technical insight to personalize outreach, nurturing leads from signup to interest, and helping qualify them for a productive engagement with our sales and technical teams. General Responsibilities
- Lead Generation: Conduct thorough research and identify potential customers within the target market to generate a healthy sales pipeline.
- Lead Qualification & Follow-Up: Engage with new signups, assess their needs, and qualify them for further engagement by understanding their technical goals and the challenges they face.
- Prospect Research: Identify and research potential customers, particularly VPs of Engineering and other technical decision-makers, to tailor outreach.
- Personalized Outreach: Develop and execute personalized messaging and follow-up strategies based on each prospect’s unique use case and pain points.
- Build Relationships: Foster relationships with potential clients, acting as a trusted advisor to guide them through their initial interactions with our tools.
- Collaboration with Sales & Marketing: Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to ensure that outreach and follow-up activities align with broader campaign goals.
- Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records in CRM, ensuring all prospect interactions are logged, and follow-ups are scheduled to drive engagement.
- Market Intelligence: Gather insights from customer interactions to help inform our product and marketing strategies, providing feedback on common technical challenges and potential new use cases.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Technical Background: 2-3 years of experience in a technical role, or relevant education in software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Understanding of Developer Tools: Familiarity with developer tools, platforms, and common challenges in software engineering, such as CI/CD, DevOps, cloud, and infrastructure management.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze prospect needs, product fit, and leverage data to drive strategic outreach and engagement.
- Self-Motivated and Goal-Oriented: Able to manage your time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work toward achieving set goals. Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing startup environment.
- Creative and a Problem Solver.

It’s nice if you have:
- Sales or Customer-Facing Experience: Previous experience in sales development, customer success, or a similar role, ideally within the tech or SaaS industry.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
