About the role: We are seeking a skilled Product Manager to spearhead the implementation of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) across Paytm's platform. The role will focus on developing and executing strategies for consent management, data subject rights, and other key DPDPA requirements. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in managing regulatory compliance projects, with a strong understanding of data privacy laws such as GDPR, and expertise in data cataloging and classification.
Key Responsibilities:
1. DPDPA Implementation:-Lead the development and deployment of DPDPA-compliant features across Paytm’s services, including insurance, travel, stocks, and credit card offerings.-Focus on implementing robust consent management systems, ensuring that user consent is clearly obtained, managed, and updated in accordance with DPDPA guidelines.-Develop and enforce processes to uphold data subject rights, such as the right to access, rectify, and delete personal data.
2.Product Strategy & Roadmap:-Define and manage the product roadmap for DPDPA compliance, aligning it with broader business objectives while ensuring regulatory adherence.-Prioritize features that enhance data privacy and security, balancing regulatory requirements with a seamless user experience.
3.Knowledge & Expertise:-Utilize deep knowledge of DPDPA, GDPR, and other relevant data privacy regulations to guide product development.-Leverage previous experience with GDPR to anticipate challenges and apply best practices to DPDPA implementation.-Apply expertise in data cataloging and classification to ensure accurate and compliant data management.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:-Work closely with legal, compliance, engineering, and data teams to implement and monitor DPDPA-compliant solutions.-Coordinate with external partners and regulators to ensure all aspects of compliance are covered.
5.Monitoring & Reporting:-Establish compliance monitoring systems to track and report on adherence to DPDPA regulations.-Create and maintain dashboards to provide visibility into compliance status for internal and external stakeholders.
6.User Experience:-Ensure that privacy and consent management features are designed to be user-friendly, minimizing friction while maintaining high standards of data protection.-Collect and analyze user feedback to continuously refine and improve compliance features.
7.Training & Awareness:-Partner with HR and compliance teams to develop and deliver training programs on DPDPA requirements and best practices.-Ensure that all team members are informed about their roles in maintaining DPDPA compliance.
Qualifications:-Experience: 7+ years of product management experience, preferably in fintech or regulatory compliance.-Knowledge: In-depth understanding of DPDPA, GDPR, and data privacy regulations, with practical experience in their implementation.-Technical Skills: Experience with data cataloging, data classification, and consent management systems.-Leadership: Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.-Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and clearly articulate compliance strategies.-Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:-Prior experience implementing GDPR or other data privacy regulations.-Familiarity with data cataloging tools and methodologies.-Experience in a fintech environment with exposure to super apps.
