Following the launch of our business banking services last year, we're now looking at growing our client base and deposit book at pace. As we head into this new phase of growth, we need the right person to help scale our Business Banking.
OakNorth Business Banking is designed for scale-up and high growth businesses with deposits of at least £100k and a turnover of over £1m. It is a tech-led proposition with a personal touch. We pride ourselves on our speed, innovation, and a deep knowledge of our clients.
As an Associate Director for Business Banking, you will be responsible for acquiring new Business Banking clients and fostering these relationships. As we continue to develop and implement a wide range of innovative banking solutions for mid-sized businesses you will be expected to grow client relationships to move their full transaction banking to OakNorth.
Working closely with colleagues across our Business Banking and Debt Finance teams and a broad set of stakeholders, this role requires someone who is plugged into customer needs, highly commercial and with an extensive network. These qualities, plus an entrepreneurial mindset, a high-velocity approach, and a passion for supporting growing businesses are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deposit Growth: Grow the deposit book of Business Banking through sourcing, acquire and onboarding new business customers to OakNorth.
- Revenue Growth: Grow revenue through expanding deposit led relationships into full transaction banking relationships as the suite of Business Banking features develops.
- Brand Advocate: As one of the faces of Business Banking represent and build the brand of OakNorth as a Business Banking provider. This will be done through attending and hosting events and building relationships with external introducers.
- Market Knowledge: Keep up to date with industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities within the business banking sector, and leverage insights to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
- Partnership Management: Cultivate and manage strategic partnerships with Key Business Introducers to generate Business Banking clients and grow the brand of OakNorth.
- Stakeholder Management: Be a team player and liaise with stakeholders across the business to identify client opportunities to grow the suite of deposit and banking products.
What do you need to excel in this role?
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a Business/Commercial Business Development role preferably within the UK financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of business banking products, payments systems, and digital banking trends.
- Demonstrated track record of deposit and revenue growth, building new and leveraging existing relationships and achieving business targets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to harness client and colleague relationships to achieve business goals.
- Comfortable in a Founder-led, entrepreneurial environment. Knows how to prioritise across a range of requirements – can distinguish across importance and urgency
