Job Summary:
Our Marketing Director will oversee leading our company's marketing efforts. The Marketing Director will be responsible for providing guidance to our marketing department by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to those involved, and building awareness and positioning for our company's brands. The Marketing Department will also be working closely with our sales department to develop a pricing strategy that will help us maximize profits and market share. This position reports to the Chief of Staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising the marketing team
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Formulate Marketing/PR plans and strategies for all facets of the company and its affiliates
- Work with the Digital Marketing teams to enhance the company’s voice and presence through online and offline channels including blogs, articles, social media and printed materials
- Manage media relations requests, and chances for advertising
- Write press releases, speeches, and other PR copy
- Review content created for website to ensure engagement and accuracy
- Work closely with Events Teams to ensure events are properly marketed to appropriate audiences and in other supporting roles
- Work with partner organizations to execute trades that are mutually beneficial
- In tandem with Executive Leadership, seek grant opportunities for the company and insure that reporting of grants is done properly and on time.
- Ensure the implementation of promotional plans
- Present solutions in times of PR crisis
- Facilitate the resolution of disputes with the public or external vendors
- Lead survey initiatives and analyze public opinion
- Seek out new opportunities to expand the business and connect those to the appropriate person
- Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and communicate insights to management
- Collaborate with external stakeholders including public affairs offices, consumer organizations, and professional societies
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of market developments, marketing strategies and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- At least five years of experience in marketing and long-range planning required.
Work Specifications:
Classification: Exempt; Full-time or Part-time
Location: Remote (position requires ability to work on-site at request of Chief of Staff)
Work Schedule: 9AM-5PM EST Monday - Friday; some weekend availability will be needed
