This & That is a next-gen social app that lets people rank and review media and real-world experiences, while also social-media-izing personality and political questionnaires—creating one complete identity and a more authentic way to connect. The three components of the app are Digital, Physical and Intimate, starting with just Digital and following a staged execution plan. *** We’re building This & That, a next-generation social platform that lets users rank and review the core parts of their lives. The product spans three layers: (1) Digital—movies, shows, books, podcasts, YouTube, music; (2) Physical—restaurants, travel, nightlife; and (3) Intimate—personality, beliefs, and compatibility. It consolidates dozens of fragmented niche platforms (Letterboxd, Goodreads, Yelp, Hinge, Beli) into one unified taste and identity graph. We’re executing in stages. The first version—the Digital-only mobile app—is our beachhead product and is already in active development (Flutter/AWS). This initial release lets users build a single profile of everything they watch, read, and listen to, discover global rankings, and connect with others based on shared taste. Starting intentionally narrow gives us a clear wedge, early user retention loops, and measurable traction before expanding into Physical and Intimate layers. Over time, the platform will evolve into a full-spectrum social identity system: one place where users can express taste, discover what’s worth consuming, what places are worth going and understand how they align with others. But the short-term focus is simple and deliberate—ship the Digital layer, validate behavior, grow a passionate early community, and then scale the product into the broader ecosystem.
