FreJun is hiring a Backend Developer with 1–3 years of experience to build, scale, and maintain high-throughput backend systems using Python.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and maintain high-performing RESTful APIs using Python (FastAPI or Django).
Design relational database schemas, write efficient ORM queries, and optimize PostgreSQL performance and indexing.
Implement background processing workflows and task queues using Celery and RabbitMQ.
Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and external services with robust error handling, rate-limiting, and retry logic.
Implement caching strategies using Redis to improve API response times and system throughput.
Collaborate with frontend engineers and the product team to define, scope, and ship new features.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks in production systems.
Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for testing, documentation, and code structure.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

1–3 years of hands-on experience building backend systems in Python.
Strong proficiency with at least one modern Python framework: FastAPI or Django (Django REST Framework).
Hands-on experience with task queues and message brokers (Celery, RabbitMQ, or Redis).
Strong foundational knowledge of PostgreSQL, including schema design, ORMs (SQLAlchemy or Django ORM), and query optimization.
Familiarity with Redis for caching and performance optimization.
Solid understanding of Git workflows, webhooks, and RESTful architecture principles.

GOOD TO HAVE

Experience deploying applications using Docker and modern CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to monitoring tools, log management, and application performance tuning.
Prior experience in a fast-paced product startup or remote engineering team.
