Backend Developer

Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Backend Developer Intern who is interested in learning and working with
Python, FastAPI, REST APIs, databases, real-time communication, and AI-powered applications.
The intern will work closely with experienced Backend Developers, AI/ML Engineers, Frontend Developers,
DevOps Engineers, QA Engineers, and Product teams to understand how scalable backend systems are
designed, developed, tested, and maintained.
The role provides hands-on exposure to applications such as AI Assistants, Virtual Interview Platforms,
Conversational AI Systems, Speech Analytics, and Real-Time Assessment Platforms.
The candidate should have a strong willingness to learn, good problem-solving skills, and an interest in backend
and AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
● Learn and develop backend applications using Python and FastAPI under guidance.
● Assist in developing and maintaining REST APIs.
● Understand API request and response structures.
● Implement basic backend features and functionality.
● Write clean, readable, and maintainable Python code.
● Assist in debugging and resolving backend issues.
● Follow coding standards and development best practices.
● Work with developers to understand existing backend modules and workflows.
API Development
● Create and test basic REST API endpoints.
● Understand HTTP methods such as GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE.
● Work with request validation and response handling.
● Learn API authentication and authorization concepts.
● Test APIs using tools such as Postman or similar tools.
● Assist in identifying and fixing API-related issues.
Real-Time Communication
● Learn the fundamentals of WebSockets and real-time communication.
● Assist in developing real-time features under supervision.
● Understand basic audio and video streaming concepts.
● Learn how real-time communication is used in AI interview and assessment platforms.
● Assist in troubleshooting real-time communication issues.
AI Service Integration

● Learn how backend systems communicate with AI services.
● Assist with integrating AI APIs and services.
● Understand basic ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) workflows.
● Understand basic TTS (Text-to-Speech) workflows.
● Assist with LLM API integrations.
● Learn how conversational AI workflows are connected with backend services.
● Work with AI/ML teams to understand integration requirements.
Message Queues & Background Processing
● Learn the basics of event-driven architecture.
● Understand the purpose of message queues such as:

● Assist in developing basic asynchronous processing workflows.
● Understand producer-consumer concepts.
● Learn how background jobs and task processing work in backend systems.
Database Development
● Work with databases such as:

● Write and execute basic database queries.
● Understand CRUD operations.
● Learn about database indexing and query optimization.
● Assist developers in troubleshooting database-related issues.
File & Media Management
● Learn how backend applications handle files and media.
● Assist with file upload and download functionality.
● Understand basic object storage concepts such as AWS S3.
● Learn how audio, video, and document files are managed by backend systems.
● Assist in testing media-related APIs and workflows.
Caching & Performance
● Learn the fundamentals of Redis and caching.
● Understand why caching is used in backend applications.
● Assist in implementing basic caching mechanisms under guidance.
● Learn about API response time and backend performance.
● Assist in identifying basic performance issues.
System Design & Documentation
● Understand basic High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) concepts.
● Read and understand existing architecture diagrams.
● Assist in preparing basic technical documentation.
● Document API workflows and backend processes.
● Learn how different backend services communicate with each other.

Testing, Debugging & Monitoring
● Test backend APIs and functionality.
● Identify and report bugs.
● Assist in debugging backend issues.
● Learn basic logging and error-handling practices.

● Assist senior developers with troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
Cloud & Infrastructure
