Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

About the role

Drawbridge is hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join its early engineering team in San Francisco.

You will help build a production platform at the intersection of process intelligence and agentic AI. You will own meaningful parts of the product across backend systems, frontend development, databases, AI integrations, and production operations.

You will work directly with founders, engineers, and customers. Success in this role means shipping reliable production software, taking ownership from design through deployment, making sound technical decisions, and improving products based on customer feedback.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship production software across the full stack

• Own features from technical design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration

• Build backend services using Go and Python

• Develop frontend applications using React and TypeScript

• Design and operate PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and production databases

• Build production systems integrating large language models

• Work with LLM orchestration, tool calling, context management, and evaluations

• Make architectural decisions and improve systems based on production outcomes

• Work directly with customers and translate feedback into product improvements

• Build reliable services with strong testing, observability, and operational practices

• Manage technical debt while maintaining product development velocity

• Contribute to technical direction as an early engineering team member

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience

• Proven experience shipping and owning production systems

• Strong backend experience with Go or another typed language such as Java, C++, Scala, or C

• Strong Python experience

• Strong React and TypeScript experience

• PostgreSQL experience covering schema design, migrations, and production operations

• Hands-on experience building production systems using LLM APIs

• Strong understanding of LLM development patterns, including orchestration, tool calling, context management, and evaluations

• Experience owning projects across multiple areas of the stack

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Experience working directly with customers or users

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco five days per week

Preferred qualifications

• Early-stage startup experience

• Founder or Founding Engineer experience

• Experience taking products from initial concept through production

• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, or hybrid search

• Experience with Terraform, GCP, Docker, or Infrastructure as Code

• Experience with production observability and incident response

• Experience with WebSockets, Server-Sent Events, or streaming APIs

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools

Tech stack

Strong candidates have owned product development end to end, shipped real production systems, worked closely with customers, and operated in startup environments.

Drawbridge is particularly interested in full-stack generalists with production LLM experience and strong backend engineering skills. Founder or Founding Engineer experience is a strong plus.
