Founding Full Stack Engineer (Applied AI)

About: rebuilding customer operations from scratch using AI agents for enterprise B2B companies. Backed by $4M from Acrew Capital and Emerson Collective, with customers like BetterUp and Fountain already seeing real impact. Founded by a 3rd-time founder who previously scaled engineering orgs to 100+ people at BetterUp and Thoughtful AI.

The Role: We're looking for our 5th team member — a Founding Full Stack Engineer who will shape the product, culture, and technical direction of the company. You'll work directly with the co-founders, interface with enterprise customers, and own entire product areas end-to-end.

What you'll do:

Build and maintain backend services (Python/FastAPI) and frontend experiences (React)
Work directly with enterprise customers to co-build AI agents and workflows
Own product and infrastructure areas from problem identification to shipping
Make foundational architectural decisions that will scale with the company
You're a great fit if you have:

✅ 5–7 years of fullstack engineering experience
✅ Strong Python/FastAPI backend + React frontend
✅ Experience at an early-stage VC-backed startup (Seed–Series B)
✅ Demonstrated promotion history in at least one role
✅ Applied AI or agent-building experience (nice to have)
✅ California-based (SF Bay Area ideal)
✅ Strong communicator — comfortable with enterprise customers

❌ Have only worked at large enterprise/big tech companies
❌ Have multiple short stints (<1 year) without explanation
❌ Need heavy direction or structured tasks to be productive
