Permanent, full-time opportunity

Location & Hours of Operation: Ability to commute to 520 North Prospect Ave, Redondo Beach, CA. Affirming Care Pharmacy is currently open Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. As we continue to grow, our hours of operation may expand to include evenings in the near future.

Who we hope to find:

We are looking for a highly motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our incredible Affirming Care Pharmacy team in Los Angeles. Reporting to the Pharmacist-in-Charge, you will play a key role in our day-to-day pharmacy operations, helping to refine processes and ensure every patient receives the most inclusive, affirming care possible. Your work will directly support reducing health disparities and expanding access to care within diverse populations, including those in the LGBTQ2IA+ community. In this role, you’ll make an impact by:

Educating & Supporting Patients

• Providing patient medication counselling (primarily PrEP, STI and HIV care) and delivering exceptional customer service over the phone and in person
• Coordinating with patients to arrange shipping and delivery preferences
• Managing patients’ refill cycles to prevent medication gaps
• Assisting patients in navigating insurance challenges

Supporting Pharmacy Operations & Workflow

• Partnering with the Pharmacist-in-Charge in the supervision of Pharmacy Technicians, ensuring all prescriptions are dispensed and shipped accurately in accordance with state board regulations
• Assisting with inventory management and auditing processes, ensuring compliance for 340B and non-340B drug inventory, and coordinating medication orders with wholesalers
• Demonstrating leadership through hands-on support, actively assisting Pharmacy Technicians with operational tasks to ensure workflow efficiency as Pharmacist workload permits

Maintaining Compliance & Driving Collaboration

• Ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, rules and regulations
• Collaborating with key team members to formulate business insights and drive operational and patient care improvements

We need someone who has:

• A Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution
• An active California Pharmacist license and in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy
• 2+ years of experience as a Pharmacist in a retail setting
• Experience navigating operational, technological and strategic change
• The ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends
• A positive attitude, a strong sense of urgency and a team player mentality
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Active listening and strong communication skills (written and verbal)

It would also be great if you have:

• Fluency in Spanish
• Experience with PioneerRx
• Pharmacist licensure in multiple states
• Knowledge of the 340B Drug Pricing Program

Compensation:

• $62–$73 per hour, reviewed annually
