The Technology Transfer Associate position offers individuals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization. Associates support healthcare startups, strategic programs, and the Cedars-Sinai Technology Transfer team as we work to advance innovative ideas and early-stage companies.

Associates will have the opportunity to expand their professional networks and deepen their knowledge of healthcare innovation by participating in meetings, educational sessions, events, and other initiatives.

We welcome applicants from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including recent graduates and mid-career professionals. Previous Associates have brought diverse experiences and perspectives to the program, including individuals with advanced degrees and significant professional experience. Our priority is finding smart, motivated individuals who are eager to learn, build relationships, and engage in the many facets of healthcare innovation and technology transfer.

General Job Description

The Technology Transfer Associate will support a variety of strategic initiatives and special projects. This role will provide operational, project management, and programmatic support for special programs, events, global alliances, and other initiatives that advance the department's goals.

The Associate will work closely with internal stakeholders, founders, industry partners, and international collaborators. Responsibilities may include coordinating projects and stakeholders, supporting the planning and execution of events and programs, conducting research and analysis, preparing communications and materials, and assisting with priority initiatives across the Technology Transfer department.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, adaptable, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support strategic initiatives, special programs, and priority projects
  • Engage with Cedars-Sinai staff, healthcare startup founders, industry mentors, investors, and international partners.
  • Provide project management and operational support for initiatives ranging from strategic planning to day-to-day administrative needs.
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of events, meetings, workshops, and educational sessions.
  • Coordinate schedules and logistics for mentors, investors, founders, internal stakeholders, and other program participants.
  • Serve as a point of contact and host for mentors, speakers, and other external guests.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for program planning and execution.
  • Support activities related to global alliances and strategic partnerships, including meeting coordination, stakeholder communication, and follow-up.
  • Assist with tracking project timelines, deliverables, outcomes, and key metrics.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed to support departmental and organizational priorities.

*Required Qualifications *

  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through
  • Clear written and verbal communication, professional judgment, and discretion with sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet deadlines, work independently, and ask thoughtful questions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

*Preferred Qualifications *

  • Experience with SharePoint, project management tools and methodologies.
  • Interest in healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, program operations, or project management.
