What skills are we looking for?

Communication: Able to communicate what a team needs to succeeds, and let that team know what needs to be accomplished on the small scale to reach the big picture goals, ambitious as they may be.

Technical grasp, scientific mind: In our minds, a good manager has a strong grasp of technical concepts, with the ability to think out loud with engineers, even if they are not themselves engineers. It helps if you've had to solve technical problems in your own life, or have some scientific background.

Experienced: Being aware, at all times, if a project is on schedule and on budget, and using the appropriate tools to accomplish that job efficiently.

Attention to detail: Caring enough to do the last round of QA and paying attention to big features, especially when something is being released to production.
