About the job
Think Waze for pedestrians
Ordinary maps can show that a pedestrian route exists without showing whether someone can actually use it.
A missing curb ramp, staircase, blocked sidewalk, construction site, poor surface, or narrow path can turn a route that looks correct on a map into one that fails in real life.
The Mobile App Corp. is building MOBI, an accessibility-first pedestrian navigation product informed by the barriers people encounter in the real world.
MOBI is being built around community reports. Instead of vehicle traffic, it focuses on the physical conditions that determine whether a pedestrian route is actually usable.
We begin with wheelchair users and disabled pedestrians because they face the greatest consequences when route information is incomplete or wrong.
Where we are today
MOBI already has a working early-stage product, functioning hazard-reporting capabilities, and a pedestrian-routing system moving into real-world testing.
Our first pilot will take place in Amsterdam, where local contributors will begin identifying the physical barriers affecting real pedestrian journeys.
You will be building around a working product as it enters its first pilot—not marketing an undeveloped concept.
The role
We are looking for a hands-on Growth Marketing & Community Lead to build MOBI’s first repeatable organic growth system.
The initial engagement is a 10-week remote launch sprint requiring approximately 8–12 flexible hours per week.
Your primary objective will be to generate qualified interest in MOBI’s Super-Mapper program—local contributors who identify real-world barriers affecting pedestrian routes.
You will own MOBI’s remote content, digital outreach, and online contributor pipeline. Amsterdam-based team members will handle local onboarding, field participation, and in-person activities.
You do not need to be based in Amsterdam or the Netherlands. However, you must be able to research the local landscape, identify relevant Amsterdam communities and organizations, and establish credible relationships from a distance.
This is an individual-contributor role. You will create, publish, test, and operate the work directly.
What you will own
Organic content
Instagram will be the primary content channel, with suitable material adapted for LinkedIn and Facebook rather than managed as three separate campaigns.
You will:
- Develop a focused content calendar.
- Write posts, captions, hooks, and calls to action.
- Create clean graphics using MOBI’s brand assets and Figma workspace.
- Produce occasional lightweight video using available footage.
- Build reusable templates and messaging systems.
The goal is clear, credible, repeatable content—not expensive production or constant posting.
Digital community growth
You will research, identify, and establish relationships with relevant Amsterdam organizations, online communities, creators, student groups, accessibility advocates, civic-technology networks, and urban-mobility audiences.
Much of this relationship-building will begin remotely through thoughtful research, personalized outreach, warm introductions, and consistent follow-up.
You will:
- Start respectful and relevant conversations.
- Adapt outreach for Amsterdam audiences rather than assuming U.S. language, culture, or marketing norms will transfer directly.
- Manage appropriate comments and direct messages.
- Generate qualified Super-Mapper interest.
- Maintain an organized contributor pipeline.
- Hand qualified Amsterdam candidates to the local team.
- Identify potential community collaborators and trusted voices.
Disabled people are central users and potential collaborators—not marketing material. Community work must remain listening-first, respectful, and non-extractive.
Testing and learning
You will test different messages, formats, hooks, and calls to action, then track which approaches generate:
- Relevant conversations.
- Qualified contributor interest.
- Signups and onboarding activity.
- Meaningful participation.
You will provide a concise weekly update covering results, lessons, and recommended next steps.
Follower count will not be the primary measure of success.
What success looks like
By the end of the 10-week sprint, MOBI should have:
- A repeatable organic content process.
- Reusable Figma and social templates.
- A tested library of messages, hooks, and calls to action.
- A clear and consistent public explanation of MOBI.
- An organized community and contributor pipeline.
- Early relationships with relevant Amsterdam communities and organizations.
- Evidence showing which approaches generate qualified participation.
- A recommendation for the next growth phase.
Qualified interest means someone who is based in or regularly available in Amsterdam, understands the Super-Mapper commitment, consents to follow-up, and is prepared to move toward onboarding.
You may be a strong fit if you
- Have built an audience, community, contributor pipeline, or organic channel.
- Write excellent English-language content.
- Can create clean graphics and lightweight social content directly.
- Are comfortable working without advertising spend or a production team.
- Can make a complicated product understandable quickly.
- Know how to build trusted relationships remotely through research, personalized outreach, introductions, and consistent follow-up.
- Can adapt messaging for an Amsterdam audience rather than relying exclusively on U.S. language or marketing norms.
- Are organized, reliable, and able to own a defined project independently.
- Improve your work based on feedback and performance results.
- Exercise sound judgment around disability and accessibility.
- Can collaborate with a founder and team operating in Europe.
Dutch-language ability or previous experience working with Dutch communities is valuable, but not required.
This opportunity is especially well suited to freelancers, consultants, creators, startup generalists, and other professionals who already work independently.
Experience in accessibility, mobility, civic technology, volunteer recruitment, community organizing, or mission-led products is valuable but not required.
Why join now
You will have the opportunity to:
- Build MOBI’s organic growth function from the beginning.
- Shape the public voice of a working product entering its first pilot.
- Help establish passability as a core part of pedestrian navigation.
- Own visible work across content, community growth, experimentation, and systems.
- Work directly with the founder and influence early growth decisions.
- Help determine how MOBI reaches and activates its first real-world community.
- Join as the MOBI application prepares to launch this month.
Working structure
A typical week may include one or two original posts, one repurposed post, a focused outreach block, comment and message management, and a concise performance update.
The project will include one short weekly coordination meeting requiring reasonable overlap with European working hours. Outside agreed meetings and deadlines, you will generally control your own schedule and working methods.
Continuous channel monitoring is not required.
Routine content may be published within agreed brand and messaging guidelines. Sensitive claims, participant stories, partnership references, and accessibility-related public responses will require company review.
There is no automatic continuation after the initial sprint. At the end of the project, both sides will review the results, working relationship, and whether a longer engagement makes sense.
Compensation
This is an equity-only project. The Mobile App Corp. cannot currently offer cash compensation yet.
The 10-week sprint is expected to include approximately 0.10%–0.15% equity on a fully diluted basis as of the grant date, vesting pro rata throughout the project with no cliff.
If both sides continue afterward, the anticipated total equity opportunity over approximately 24 months is 0.75%–1.25%, including the sprint award.
The company intends to transition this opportunity to paid compensation when funding permits and the results and working relationship support continuation. However, no paid role, funding event, compensation level, or timeline is guaranteed.
Exact terms, security type, share quantity, and the available engagement structure will be documented before any work begins. The available structure will depend on the selected candidate’s state and working circumstances.
Equity is speculative, illiquid, subject to future dilution, and may ultimately have no financial value.
Qualified candidates will receive additional information about the company, product stage, capitalization basis, proposed security type, and equity mechanics before being asked to accept the project.
What we provide
- MOBI brand assets and messaging guidance.
- Access to the Figma workspace and relevant social accounts.
- Product demonstrations and screen recordings.
- Amsterdam field material, hazard examples, and pilot updates.
- Approved community stories when available.
- Introductions to relevant existing contacts where appropriate.
- Amsterdam-based support for local follow-up and onboarding.
- Direct founder collaboration.
- Timely review of sensitive content.
You will not be expected to purchase advertising, software, equipment, travel, or services for the company.
We are not requesting free sample content, a campaign, or an unpaid strategy presentation.
The shortest path is often not the usable path. Help us build routes that actually work.
