About the job
Asgard Aerospace is building the execution layer for aerospace manufacturing.
Today, production across the aerospace and defense industry is fragmented across thousands of independent facilities, with no unified system governing how work moves, how compliance is preserved, or how capacity is coordinated.
We are building that system.
Launchbelt coordinates how parts are routed, quoted, produced, and tracked across distributed suppliers, enforcing traceability, compliance, and production logic at every step. This defines how hardware moves from design to certified output.
We are assembling the engineering team responsible for building it.
Role Focus: Infrastructure, Security, and System Reliability
Role Summary
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will define and implement the production environment that the Launchbelt platform runs on.
You will make foundational decisions around hosting, deployment, security, and system architecture. These decisions will determine how the platform scales, how it is secured, and how reliably it operates under real-world production conditions.
This role is about getting the infrastructure right from the start.
What You Will Own
- Design and implement the platform hosting architecture (cloud environment, services, and structure)
- Configure PostgreSQL infrastructure including backups, replication, and environment separation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for reliable deployment
- Define environment management across development, staging, and production
- Implement authentication and authorization systems (JWT, RBAC)
- Establish security practices aligned with aerospace and defense requirements
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for production reliability
- Ensure system scalability, uptime, and performance under increasing load
What We Are Building
Launchbelt is a production orchestration system.
It operates at the level of execution, not visibility.
The system:
Coordinates production across distributed manufacturing facilities
Routes parts based on capability and constraints
Tracks execution across multiple independent nodes
Maintains compliance and traceability across every step
This system requires infrastructure that is:
Reliable under continuous operation
Secure under controlled information environments
Scalable as production volume increases
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or platform engineering
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar)
- Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines
- Experience managing databases in production environments (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Strong understanding of system security, authentication, and access control
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and production system reliability
- Ability to define infrastructure architecture from early-stage to scale
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in early-stage or high-ownership environments
- Familiarity with Supabase, Railway, or modern cloud deployment platforms
- Experience with containerization (Docker)
- Exposure to security frameworks relevant to aerospace or defense (ITAR, CUI)
- Experience supporting systems with high reliability requirements
Work Model
Hybrid role based in Austin, Texas
Initial setup may be contract-based with ongoing engagement
Direct interaction with platform engineering and leadership
Compensation
Compensation includes a combination of salary and equity aligned with early-stage, high-ownership engineering roles.
Final structure will be discussed with candidates based on experience, scope, and timing relative to hiring phase.
