SiC Technologies company logo
Lower emissions with brakes you never need to replace1-10 Employees

We solve a major problem caused by regulation 49 CFR Part 571 enforced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. It states semi-trucks have to stop in 30% shorter distance to reduce loss of life. Semi-trucks currently use drum brakes at 300 lbs per truck and the only product to meet the requirement is converting to steel disc brakes at 800 lbs, an increase of 500 pounds per truck. 500 lbs x $1.50 per pound = $750 loss a day. 200 delivery days a year x $750 = $150,000 loss a year. This causes companies to raise their rates on customers to make up for lost revenue. We manufacture a patent pending aerospace brake rotor called carbon ceramic brakes at 18 Ibs a rotor or 180 pounds per truck. Trucks gain back $180,000 in revenue. In addition, our product has excellent wear properties last up to 4 times longer than a traditional brake, high friction coefficients for shorter stopping distances, and less rotational mass which can save thousands in fuel cost saving a year.
