Right now we’re looking for an Associate Director of Commercial Analytics to play a key role in our commercial finance team in London. If that’s you, and making a difference gets you out of bed in the morning, keep reading. It could be the start of something, well, extraordinary.
Sounds great, what will I be doing? 🤔
As our Associate Director of Commercial Analytics you'll manage a talented team of data analysts, partner closely with the data engineering team, and engage with key stakeholders across the commercial and finance functions. You will drive the development of self-service analytics and provide insightful, data-backed performance metrics to empower decision-making across the business. A visionary with a strategic mindset, you’ll also focus on advancing systems integration and data automation to enhance our commercial insights capabilities.
In this role, you will engage with senior leaders across finance, revenue, marketing, operations, and strategy, clearly communicating commercial performance and data insights to support informed decision-making. You will lead and mentor a team of data analysts, overseeing task allocation, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting continuous learning to keep motivation and productivity high and working closely with the Data Engineering and product analytics teams to optimize data flows, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across all analytical tools. Additionally, you will develop advanced analytics and reporting solutions using tools like Tableau, Salesforce, and Google Sheets to support key business functions. Your work will empower departments across GWI to access self-serve analytics tools independently while identifying and refining predictive metrics to forecast trends and proactively address business opportunities and risks.
It’s also fun; shaking things up is what working for a growing company is all about. So you’ll need to be flexible, comfortable with continuous change, and working in a high-tempo environment as we grow.
What do I need to bring with me? 🧳
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you’re willing to learn. Here’s what the team will be looking for:
👉 Proven experience in a leadership role within commercial analytics or data analytics, with demonstrated success in managing and motivating a semi-technical team of analysts.👉 Advanced expertise in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, AppsScript), as well as proficiency in predictive modelling and statistical analysis.👉 Expert in Tableau and familiar with other visualisation tools like Power BI, as well as strong Excel skills for creating reports and dashboards.👉 Excellent communication and presentation abilities, enabling clear and confident delivery of complex insights to non-technical stakeholders across the organisation.👉 Experience with agile working with strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise tasks, and ensure timely completion of initiatives. Equally important is attitude. We want people who think big (to make an impact), ask why (to find a better way), and show respect (to everyone, at every level, all the time). Those are our values, exemplified by our leadership team, and they’re a big part of what we’re looking for in you.
Interview steps 👟
👉 Preliminary phone call with the Talent Team (no video required)👉 First video interview with the hiring managers 👉 Second (and final*) video interview with the hiring panel, often including a presentation, followed by a values conversation with members of the wider GWI community.
*Don’t be alarmed if there are other stages in the process, it’s all part of the plan for some of our roles.
