Your Impact
We are looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer who is a highly skilled technical expert to lead the development and optimization of the Business Intelligence team’s data architecture and transformation processes. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data pipelines and models are robust, scalable, and aligned with business needs. While providing strong technical directions and mentorship to junior engineers and BI analysts, you will also work with the team’s leadership to contribute to strategic data initiatives and long-term architecture decisions.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design and optimization of complex ELT pipelines to support business analytics at scale.
- Proactively identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve pipeline efficiency and reliability.
- Drive automation of key data engineering processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Architect and implement advanced data models to support evolving business needs and reporting.
- Optimize and refactor existing data models to enhance performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Ensure data quality by implementing validation and error-checking mechanisms across all transformations.
- Provide technical mentorship and support to junior and mid-level analytics engineers, fostering skill development.
- Review and provide feedback on team members' work, ensuring adherence to best practices and code quality.
- Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives, helping upskill the team on new tools and techniques.
- Serve as a key technical advisor in stakeholder meetings, providing solutions that align with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Translate business requirements into efficient, scalable technical solutions that support strategic objectives.
Who You Are
- 5+ years experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or similar role
- Extensive experience working with columnar cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, etc.) and data transformation tools (e.g. dbt)
- Proven experience in designing and optimizing complex data models and pipelinesProven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements, translate them into analytical solutions, effectively communicate insights that drive strategic decision-making and drive technical projects to completion
- Expertise in data modeling, transformation, and pipeline managementKnowledge of database management, including partitioning, indexing, and optimizing query performance
- Deep expertise in SQL and cloud-based data architectureProven ability to bridge technical and business teams and translate complex ideas into actionable insights
Even Better If You Have
- Experience with data orchestration tools (e.g. Apache Airflow, Dagster, Luigi)
- Proficiency in Python for building automation and data transformation scripts
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelinesExperience in dashboard creation using data visualization tools (e.g. QuickSight, Tableau, PowerBI)
- Experience as BI analyst or other business analystStrong understanding of data governance principles and best practices for data quality management.
- Experience in a leadership or mentoring capacity within a data team.
