About the Project:
We are developing an innovative app focused on empowering young adults aged sixteen to twenty-four by providing them with access to critical mental health resources, life skills challenges, and local community support. This platform leverages gamification and engaging educational content to promote personal growth and well-being.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Lead Developer/Technical Co-Founder to join our founding team and spearhead the technical development of our minimum viable product (MVP). The ideal candidate is passionate about using technology for social impact, possesses strong leadership skills, and is eager to contribute to building a meaningful product from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end development process of the MVP, including planning, development, and deployment.
- Make informed technical decisions that align with the app’s vision and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with the founders and design team to translate product ideas into practical features.
- Build scalable, efficient, and maintainable code, and ensure best practices in coding and development.
- Oversee technical troubleshooting, debugging, and improvement of the app’s performance.
- Set up necessary technical infrastructure, ensuring security and scalability.
- Contribute to the recruitment and mentorship of future technical team members as the project grows.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in mobile app development, preferably with a focus on both iOS and Android platforms.
- Proficiency in relevant programming languages and frameworks (e.g., React Native, Swift, Kotlin).
- Strong understanding of front-end and back-end development processes.
- Experience with cloud services and database management (e.g., AWS, Firebase).
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with non-technical team members.
- Passion for youth development, mental health, and creating impactful tech solutions.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous startup experience or experience in building MVPs.
- Familiarity with gamification strategies and user engagement tools.
- A network within the tech community that could aid in future talent acquisition.
