Position Overview: The Senior Procurement Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the procurement process for materials, services, and subcontractors. This position requires a strategic thinker with expertise in sourcing and negotiating, particularly within the construction and design sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement procurement strategies to support project goals. Identify and evaluate suppliers of construction materials and services to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiation: Lead negotiations with vendors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and timely delivery of materials and services.
Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and execution of contracts with suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with legal standards and company policies.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor their performance and address any issues to maintain project timelines and quality.
Collaboration with Project Teams: Work closely with design, engineering, and project management teams to understand procurement needs and align purchasing strategies with project timelines.
Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, pricing, and emerging technologies in construction materials and services to inform procurement decisions.
Data Analysis: Analyze procurement data to track spending, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide reports on procurement activities.
Process Improvement: Continuously assess and enhance procurement processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Construction Management, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
5+ years of procurement experience in the construction or design and build industry.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
Proven experience in managing supplier relationships and contracts.
Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of construction industry regulations and compliance standards.
