POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced, passionate, and resourceful staff-level backend software engineer to join our Employment Platform team. In our team, you’ll work cross-functionally with various product and platform teams, and contribute to the design and development of key platform services. This person will need to be strong in C# or JVM programming languages and event-driven architecture on top of AWS.
This position will be ideally hybrid from our BLR office as part of our expanding site location. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the design & implementation of new features - break down complex problems into their bare essentials, translate this complexity into elegant design, and create high-quality, clean code.
- Make a meaningful impact in the lives of our community members.
- Lead, design, develop, and deliver large-scale systems.
- Collaborate and mentor other Senior or Junior engineers while providing thoughtful guidance using code, design, and architecture reviews.
- Contribute to defining technical direction, planning the roadmap, escalating issues, and synthesizing feedback to ensure team success.
- Estimate and manage team project timelines and risks.
- Care passionately about producing high-quality, efficient designs and code.
- Constantly learning about new technologies and industry standards in software engineering.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
- 7+ years of development experience in backend software development
- 2+ years of experience leading projects and engineers as a lead engineer
- Proficient in at least C# .NET or one JVM programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Scala
- Hands-on experience working in cloud environments: AWS, GCP or Azure
- Hands-on experience working with various databases. DynamoDB, MySql, ElasticSearch
- Experience in managing event-driven systems, particularly with Kafka in cloud environments.
- Experience in building large-scale applications
- Familiarity with clean architecture approach and software craftsmanship
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
