Heu Learning is a nonprofit devoted to dramatically increasing the supply of in-person English instruction. I'm looking for a technical co-founder to lead the full-stack development of this software, which includes interpretable ML systems to advance student learning outcomes.

26.5 million US residents don't speak English—it's a massive detriment to their well-being, and massive, missed opportunity for the US. While studies have found in-person English instruction to be life-changing for enrollees, fewer than 350 thousand access the service. In fact, the US provides 72.5% fewer ESL seats than we did in 2005.

We help community-based organizations adopt standardized models of ESL instruction that are more effective, easier, and cheaper to run. At the center of these models are software platforms that streamline scheduling and provide personalized, in-person blended learning curricula. The hope is that by providing continuous support to organizations as they adopt efficient and effective operating practices, many more organizations will be able to offer effective programs to begin with.
