Co-Founder & CTO

TapTab (https://taptabapp.com) is a cutting-edge software and application that is inventing the future of the restaurant discovery, and we’re looking for amazing people to help us create that future.

We're seeking a Co-Founder/Lead Engineer with full-stack experience to continue to develop our software and application, including TapTab's integration with Point of Sale systems and other third-party applications. The initial responsibilities of this role will entail writing and reviewing code, but it will evolve into building and leading a technical team. Note that we already have a very robust product, a well-developed and documented codebase, a well-established development process, development tools, a small team of part-time software engineers, as well as customers and revenue.

For the next 3-4 months, the compensation for this role will be in shares. Then, as soon as we raise our next round of funding, it will turn into a full-time, salaried position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Your responsibilities will be to:

• Write code as part of developing TapTab’s software, including its backend, frontend, and web application for restaurants.
• Review code to ensure code quality, reliability and optimal performance
• Integrate TapTab with various Point of Sale systems and middlewares
• Select, test and contribute to the adoption of software architecture, programming languages and new technologies
• Train, recruit and work with TapTab engineers

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 5 years of software development experience, specifically using Node.js, React.js, TypeScript, Nest.js, PostgresSQL, and, ideally, iOS
• Knowledge of Google Cloud
• Experience developing scalable, adaptive, high-performance apps
• Demonstrated ability to write, review and test high-quality, readable, reliable and well-architected code
• Ability to define, understand, develop, test and iterate new product features
• Experience working with and fetching data from internal and third party APIs
• Ability to optimize software for performance and speed
• Familiar with Git version control
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

BONUS SKILLS & QUALITIES

• Experience with Point of Sale systems and restaurant software
• Knowledge of mobile development
• Previously released an app or apps in the Apple App Store
• Startup experience
