Who We Are:
Welcome to Noldor, we are on a mission to revolutionize how insurance data powers the program and specialty insurance marketplace. Don’t let the word "insurance" fool you, insurance is a dynamic and rapidly evolving marketplace, and we are at the forefront of its transformation. At Noldor, we are building a groundbreaking platform that redefines data exchange, empowering MGAs (Managing General Agents), carriers, and reinsurers to harness data for more informed, strategic decision-making.
Since our start in 2021 at the DESCOvery venture studio, we’ve been on a roll—building an energetic, supportive, and driven team that's fearless about tackling some of the toughest challenges in this $5 trillion industry. We work hard, laugh harder, and believe in the impact we’re making together. If you're ready to be part of a transformative journey, let’s reshape this industry side by side!
About the role:
With over 8 years of experience, you are a master in data pipeline efficiency. As a Data Engineer at Noldor, you will automate and optimize data delivery and automated manual processes and make them sing. We believe in elegant solutions, automation to improve work and clean code.
We are looking for a data engineering lead, a true problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative environment of a small engineering team at a tech startup. We want you to own the data pipeline from end to end, helping the analysts automate the early transforms, and building a pipeline that will rationalize data and let our software perform at its best. You have experience collaborating with product and senior leadership on an enterprise data architectural vision, and then making it a reality.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop and maintain data pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and loading data from various sources
- Build and manage scalable, highly performant data warehouse and data lake architectures
- Implement data quality checks and ensure data integrity throughout the data lifecycle
- Develop and document technical specifications for data infrastructure components
- Collaborate with analysts to understand their needs and design data solutions
- Automate data engineering tasks and processes
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
Who You Are:
- You have experience working in a startup environment
- You have proven experience in designing and building data pipelines
- You enjoy data warehousing and data lake concepts
- You work independently and as part of a team
- You can effectively communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
- You have an interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows & philosophies
- You evangelize what good data engineering looks like
