Manual Tester

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manual Tester to join our team. As a Manual Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will be responsible for various testing activities, including test environment setup, participation in meetings, analysis of customer requests, software bug tracking, analysis and execution of test cases, and maintaining contact with test managers.

Key Responsibilities

Test Environment Setup:

• Configure and set up test environments to mimic real-world conditions for software testing.
• Ensure all necessary hardware, software, and configurations are in place for testing purposes.

Participation in Meetings:

• Actively participate in project meetings to understand requirements, timelines, and priorities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and clarify testing objectives.

Analysis of Customer Requests:

• Analyze and understand customer requirements and feature requests.
• Collaborate with product managers and developers to translate customer needs into testable scenarios.

Software Bug Tracking:

• Identify, document, and track software defects and issues.
• Work closely with developers to reproduce, prioritize, and resolve bugs.

Management and Execution of Test Cases:

• Create, review, and execute manual test cases based on project requirements.
• Ensure comprehensive test coverage, including functional, regression, and user acceptance testing.

Maintaining Contact with Managers:

• Maintain regular communication with test managers and provide updates on testing progress and challenges.
• Report any critical issues or roadblocks that may impact project timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
• 2-5 years of experience in manual software testing.
• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency in test case design and execution.
• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• ISTQB certification (optional).
