About the Vice President of Sales Role:
The VP of Sales will facilitate growth initiatives for OppZo, Inc. by developing and executing the firm’s sales and customer success strategy. The candidate must have strong contacts and be able to establish and cultivate new relationships with clients and typical small and medium sized business (SMBs) referral sources such as investment banks, private equity sponsors and non-sponsor owned private and public companies. This role will be key in contributing to and leading the branding initiatives that will direct our sales and business development efforts. The VP of Sales will effectively highlight how OppZo’s product provides solutions for clients and referral sources, and how they differ from or complement bank products and other non-bank lending companies and competitors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and guide sales staff
- Develop sales incentives and compensation plans
- Participate in the design and build of the strategic sales plan.
- Meet with potential investors to present company offerings and negotiate business deals.
- Maintain key contacts across industries, referral sources and with sector relationship managers.
- Collaborate with relationship partners to generate ideas, identify client solutions, pursue sector marketing efforts, and deliver timely solutions.
- Ensures delivery of exemplary client service by troubleshooting as client advocate in a professional, ethical, and conscientious manner. Analyze customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with company products and services.
- Provide insight into product development and competitive positioning.
- Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities.
- Represent OppZo and demonstrate leadership through participation in industry events.
- Protect OppZo assets and maintain quality of portfolio by adhering to lending processes, policies and procedures, legal and ethical requirements and regulations, audit requirements, and established risk guidelines.
- Ensure accountability for ensuring the team maintains the required internal control standards including adherence to audit, regulatory and compliance policies.
- Stay abreast of industry updates and communicate them to business unit leaders and staff and using this information, apply changes relevant to meeting strategic initiatives.
- Build a high performance/high productivity and client-centered work environment.
Experience:
- In-depth level of commercial credit/portfolio management knowledge, skills & experience.
- Viewed as an SMB lending expert, actively participating in panels and conferences to increase visibility.
- An undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or accounting preferred
- CPA, MBA or equivalent experience in finance, accounting and/or business law a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years in the financial services industry experience in a corporate lending environment with solid achievements in developing business.
- Excellent knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.
- Expert knowledge in Asset Based Lending as recognized by clients and peers
- Significant managerial, change management, and leadership experience.
- Exceptional abilities in business development with demonstrated excellence in cross-selling success sustaining significant revenue generation.
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
- Exceptional analytical skills.
- Proficient using modern technologies such as Salesforce, Google GSuite, and Front
- Strong interpersonal skills used within a team environment and in client interaction with emphasis on excelling in relationship building.
- The ability to advocate persuasively.
- Excellent capability to service multiple clients independently and proactively and effectively manage multiple priorities.
