ROLE
We are looking for a Marketing Director who will be responsible for establishing and driving Bumo’s marketing strategy across it’s platforms for both the core brand and growth pillars. The Marketing Director will focus on how to best acquire and retain customers while optimizing experiences across marketing touchpoints to deliver a best-in-class experience. This role will report directly to the CMO and be an integral partner for the other Bumo teams to make key decisions related to our customers’ experiences and our offering.
You have bias-for-action, are motivated to go above and beyond to identify ways to reach more customers and retain existing customers in the most effective and efficient way possible while growing the Bumo brand across its platforms. This role requires a passion for critical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive marketing initiatives from concept through execution—basing decisions and action plans on data-driven insights, collaborating with functional and external partners and supporting Marketing team members to project manage and execute
- Prioritize and execute marketing initiatives that affect customer KPIs across marketing acquisition and retention channels (mobile, email, paid social) and make recommendations on areas for improvement / optimization
- Develop strategies for key marketing decisions based on analytical problem solving, e.g. quantitative and qualitative consumer insights, customer experience feedback, marketing offers or acquisition tests, demand projections, cohort health / lifetime value, basket analyses
- Identify opportunities for funnel optimization with new and existing customers by developing a roadmap and coordinating execution across site and acquisition / retention efforts through A/B testing, landing page optimization, creative testing
- Develop strategy for customer segmentation to improve cohort-level conversion
- Support go-to-market initiatives in partnership with functional partners
- Support digital product in identifying optimizations and ways to improve conversion
- Support acquisition and retention initiatives in partnership with functional partners
- Support management of key marketing partners / agencies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ yrs experience within a Retail or E-commerce company or project management roles at a top tier consulting firm
- Strong strategic, analytical thinker with outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to distill complex information into key insights / summaries (“the elevator pitch”)
- Ability to identify priorities and set departmental deadlines based on broader understanding of company objectives using organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to develop clear, simple structural frameworks to solve analytical problems and manage complex cross-functional projects
- Strong background in analytics including customer data, order data, site performance data and understand the nuances of data, key assumptions and how to interpret the results into comprehensive strategy and tactical actions; data analytics in subscription based business a bonus
- Ability to develop hypotheses based on specific analytical questions and broad strategic objectives and can delve into executing analytics as needed
- Hypothesis-led analytical approach and grounded in data-based decision-making; does not “boil the ocean” to find answers to questions
- Understand when to dive deep into details of data v. estimate based on key assumptions with back-of-the-envelope calculations
- Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team and able to simultaneously support fellow team members
- Has managed teams directly and cross-functionally in prior experiences with strong positive feedback from both manager, peers and subordinates
- College degree required
