Taiga is a software as a service company that provides business intelligence software to the independent convenience store operators and petroleum jobbers markets. The flagship product, Storekeep, combines internet of things technology, machine learning, and advanced analytics to take the guess work out of business operations. We allow our customers to stop using centralized, routine based assumptions to drive business and replace those faults with localized, insights driven information that allows operators to make better decisions. This lets our clients make day to day business decisions to maximize revenue and ROI with data driven analytics and insights.
Founded in 2019, Taiga was formed by a team of serial entrepreneurs following a successful exit in the hospitality industry. We are currently looking for a Sales Development Representative to work closely with our Chief Revenue Officer and build a pipeline of prospective clients.
Role Overview
This position is an exciting opportunity for an early career professional who wants to build a career in software sales and gain experience working in a startup. We are seeking a personable and self-motivated individual who learns quickly, has a knack for swiftly building rapport with other people and enjoys working as part of a team.
In this role, you will be responsible for outbound prospecting to identify new leads for our sales team. As you speak with prospective clients, you will seek to understand the current challenges in their businesses and effectively communicate how our software can deliver value. Your goal will be to schedule appointments for our sales managers to deliver demonstrations of our product.
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be mentored by successful senior sales representatives to learn how to build a pipeline of opportunities and use a customer relationship system to manage your activities. As an early member of the team, you will get the opportunity to work closely with leadership as they build out the sales team and put the company on a trajectory for rapid growth. Because of the early stage of the business, this is a career path role with potential for rapid promotion.
What You'll Do
- Research prospective client accounts.
- Follow-up digital marketing campaigns with phone and email communication.
- Speak with prospective customers to understand their business needs and educate them about our capabilities.
- Build relationships with prospects through repeat interaction in order to convert them into to a scheduled demonstration.
- Have full knowledge of target prospect base and manage an ongoing prospect pipeline.
- Develop subject matter expertise on our product and the industry to speak knowledgeably with prospective customers.
- Use Salesforce to track activity with prospective customers.
- Report to KPI’s to sales leadership on numbers including outreach, connections, meetings scheduled, etc.
- Act as a leader by helping train new team members and collaborating with existing team members to improve overall performance.
Who You Are
- You have a desire to build a career in technology sales and are excited to get in on the ground floor of a start-up with awesome potential. A strong interest in business intelligence and/or analytics is a plus!
- You possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- You enjoy interacting with people and can quickly connect and build a relationship on the phone.
- You are organized and effectively manage yourself to achieve your goals without a lot of supervision.
- You are receptive to feedback and possess a willingness to learn and embrace continuous improvement.
- You have experience with Microsoft Office and experience working with different types of software.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and Google Docs is a plus.
- Bachelor's Degree with 1-3+ years of experience in a sales-related role.
