We are seeking a high achieving sales professional with an entrepreneurial spirit to be the Sales Account Executive, working out of our Boston, MA location (Brighton). Reporting to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, you identify opportunities to achieve annual performance goals for SmartLabs.
You must be highly self-motivated, always professional, and able to prioritize your workload in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Things change fast and frequently here, so we need someone at the top of their game who can shift gears, change directions, and keep going at pace. You have to be a smart, strategic thinker and a tactical executer. Collaboration and business savvy all come into play here and you will use them every day.
**In this role, you will help with:
Strategic Partnership:
- Partnering with the Business Development Team to develop strategy.
- Partnering with lead generation resource to prioritize and pursue opportunities.
- Collaborating with the business development team to identify and evolve messaging, participate in the leadership team by spearheading growth efforts, and work closely with the executive team to set and achieve growth targets.
- They will own and execute the full sales life-cycle, from lead pursuit to negotiation and close.
- Focus on both new client development and works closely with the team providing client services to understand and pursue opportunities to deepen client relationships.
- Support Sales Plan objectives through a coach centric approach to directing, coordinating and assisting the sales team
*Role Specific: *
Identify and lead organic growth efforts, including the development of company strategy.
Prioritize and pursue sales opportunities including leading the response to all inquiries, RFPs and bids.
Manage the sales processes and meet annual performance targets for the company.
Build strong relationships and communication channels.
Collaborate on refining SmartLabs’ messaging and delivering a differentiated story to potential clients.
Identify improvement opportunities to more efficiently and effectively reach our growth targets, which includes development of lead generation tactics, assessment and evolution of sales practices.
Develop tools that generate leads and/or convey the value of SmartLabs’ offering.
Analysis of the industry marketplace to develop an ‘industry expert’ understanding to inform both the business strategy and product growth initiatives. **
Professional qualifications include:
- A proven sales leader with a track-record of progressively responsible business development experience in the hospitality and or biotech services setting and a reputation for driving strong financial results.
- Significant sales acumen and experience selling a complex product.
- Excellent quantitative and analytic skills, along with solid critical thinking skills, which serve as the foundation for a reputation as an industry expert and trusted advisor.
- Experience developing compelling RFP’s that clearly communicates the value and differentiation of a complex product in a client’s context.
- Superior active listening skills, time management abilities, outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Solid knowledge of HubSpot or other equivalent CRM, spreadsheets (MS Excel), word processing (MS Word), building professional presentations (MS PowerPoint and Visio), email and calendaring (MS Outlook).
- Degree from a well-respected university or similarly compelling life experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, at all levels and cross-functionally.
- Ability to learn new tools and applications when and where needed.
