MeeTwo Education's mission is to provide mental help at a global scale by giving young people both the tools and skills, to help themselves, by helping each other. Our flagship service is the multi-award winning MeeTwo app, a free, fully moderated peer support app which allows young people to transform difficult life experiences into useful advice for others. Guided moderated peer support is an untapped resource which increases agency, teaches empathy and builds resilience. By providing all young people aged 11 - 23, with immediate access to free, safe, guided support, MeeTwo addresses low-level anxiety before it escalates, MeeTwo increases young people’s life chances whilst reducing the burden on school pastoral teams, doctors and allied health professionals. Launched in September 2017 we now have an empowered community of 16,000+ users. We are endorsed by the NHS Apps Library, Digital Health.London (NHS), Teach First, and CAMHS (NELFT) and partner with Shout. MeeTwo will represent British social enterprise at the next world fair EXPO2020. In both 2017 and 2018 the MeeTwo app was recognised as one of the 100 most inspiring education innovations in the world by HundrED. Our work to improve the life circumstances of young people was recognised in the 2019 Tech4Good Awards where we won both the People’s Choice and the Connected Society award. In 2019 MeeTwo also won the Medtech innovation award and Mayor of London’s Business award for Social Impact. In 2018 we crowdfunded the publication of the MeeTwo Teenage Mental Help Handbook, a unique directory of self help resources for young people which has been distributed free to 1, 700+ UK secondary schools have benefited from this scheme. In September 2019, the MeeTwo Teenage Mental Help Handbook won first prize in the ‘Health and Social Care’ category at the British Medical Association Book awards.
