Jobs at EarthEnable
Billions of people globally live on dirt floors. These floors are a major cause of infectious disease, respiratory illness, malnutrition, and diseases. EarthEnable is a social enterprise with the mission of improving health and housing in low income communities by building locally sourced, earthen floors that are affordable enough for the bottom of the pyramid.
For us, this starts in Rwanda, where 80% of people live on dirt floors. Concrete flooring – the only other viable alternative – is prohibitively expensive at 300+ USD for a 200 square foot home. There is substantial unmet need for an affordable and durable flooring. EarthEnable fills this need by building clean, durable and sustainable earthen floors that are 75% cheaper than concrete.
Our floors are a substantial improvement from concrete flooring not only because concrete is prohibitively expensive, but also because the concrete industry is extremely environmentally unsustainable, responsible for 5% of global carbon emissions.
EarthEnable was founded two years ago by a group of Stanford students taking the class "Entrepreneurial Design for Extreme Affordability". The team is 100 people strong, and primarily Rwandese. We are expanding rapidly within Rwanda, and since founding have served over 1,200 customers. We are at the beginning of a period of major scaling both in Rwanda and internationally. Our North Star is eliminating dirt floors globally.
