3DFortify’s dynamic additive manufacturing technology (Science and Nature Communications) incorporates magnetic control of composite fiber alignment into the additive manufacturing processes. The result are parts with highly-tunable mechanical properties capable of utilizing a wide array of fibers, polymers and manufacturing processes. By combining Finite Element Analysis (FEA), computer aided design (CAD) and our proprietary 3D printing platform, 3DFortify is able to manufacture highly complex architectures with tuned reinforcement at the voxel scale in the x, y, z axes. The capability to control composite microstructures creates a new class of high-performance materials with broad applications across several industries. Our primary advantage over existing and future competitors is our magnetic alignment technology. It is currently the only scalable method available for 3D control over the reinforcing structure of a printed composite part, optimizing the mechanical properties.
