About the job
Why This Role Exists?
Legistify is an AI-powered legal operations platform built around two core products – CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) and ELM (Enterprise Legal Management) – with roughly 200 enterprise customers across India. We are building our zero-to-one go-to-market motion for the US market, and this role is the first outbound engine for that motion.
This SDR sits in India but works US hours and speaks to US buyers every day. The job is simple to state and hard to execute well: find the right people inside US companies, get them genuinely interested in a 20-minute conversation, and put them in front of our Account Executive (or Founder, in the early months) for a demo. Nothing you do here is meant to close revenue – it is entirely about generating and qualifying a reliable flow of US enterprise conversations.
We are running this as a deliberate, low-cost experiment before committing to a larger US-based hiring investment – so the person in this seat has an outsized influence on whether and how Legistify scales its US commercial team over the next 12–18 months.
What You'll Own?
1] Outbound prospecting
- Build and work target account lists of US companies matching our ICP (defined jointly with the US GTM Lead / Founders – initially mid-market and enterprise legal, compliance, and procurement buyers).
- Run multi-channel outbound: cold calls, personalized email sequences, LinkedIn/social outreach, and video prospecting.
- Research accounts and contacts before every outreach attempt – org structure, legal team size, existing tools, recent triggers (funding, leadership changes, compliance events).
- Use sales engagement and enrichment tools (e.g. Apollo/ZoomInfo/Clay, Outreach/Salesloft-style sequencing) to scale personalized outreach without sounding templated.
2] Qualification & meeting-setting
- Run structured discovery on cold and warm calls to confirm the prospect has a real legal-ops or contracting pain point, budget context, and a plausible buying process.
- Multi-thread within target accounts – General Counsel, Legal Ops leads, Procurement, and Business/Finance stakeholders – rather than relying on a single contact.
- Book qualified demos directly onto the AE's (or Founder's) calendar, with clean context notes so the first call with the prospect is productive.
- Own follow-through on inbound interest (website demo requests, content downloads, event leads) with the same rigor as outbound-sourced leads.
3] Pipeline hygiene & reporting
- Maintain accurate, current records in the CRM for every touchpoint, opportunity stage, and next step.
- Track and report weekly against activity and outcome metrics.
- Share structured, qualitative feedback from calls – objections heard, competitor mentions, messaging that lands or doesn't – back to the Founders/GTM Lead to sharpen positioning.
4] Motion-building (early-stage specific)
- Because this is a zero-to-one motion, expect to help pressure-test and refine call scripts, email sequences, and ICP definitions rather than simply executing a fixed playbook.
- Flag what is and isn't working fast – this role is as much a market-testing function as a lead-generation function in the first two quarters.
What We're Looking For:
Must-have
- 1–4 years of experience as an SDR/BDR carrying an outbound quota, ideally in B2B SaaS.
- Demonstrated experience prospecting into or selling to US-based companies – comfortable with US business language, tone, and buying norms.
- Proven full-cycle outbound skill: cold calling, sequencing, and multi-threading into an account – not just working inbound leads.
- Strong spoken and written English with a neutral, US-friendly accent and phone manner.
- Comfortable selling on value/ROI framing (cost, risk, and time saved) rather than leading with product features – our buyers are legal and procurement leaders, not technical evaluators.
- Resilience and coachability – outbound cold-calling has a high rejection rate, and this is a build from-scratch motion with no existing playbook to lean on.
- Willingness to work US-aligned hours from India (evening or late-night shift).
Nice-to-have
- Prior experience at an India-headquartered SaaS company selling into the US (e.g. Chargebee, Freshworks, Zoho, Darwinbox, Whatfix, Postman, Leena AI, SpotDraft, or similar).
- Familiarity with legal tech, compliance, HR tech, or another horizontal enterprise software category sold to operations/legal/finance buyers.
- Hands-on experience with a modern sales stack: Apollo, ZoomInfo, Clay, Outreach/Salesloft, HubSpot or Salesforce.
- Exposure to event-led pipeline generation (booth/conference follow-up) even if the event itself was run by someone else.
