Full Stack Developer

About This Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a senior-level Full Stack Developer who is a self-starter, excellent at getting things done, and not afraid to try new things. This developer operates with significant autonomy, setting and owning outcomes, driving technical decisions, and delivering
high-impact work without needing micromanagement.

You will work as part of a dynamic and diverse team of 15, spanning multiple continents including South Africa, Dubai, Tokyo, and the US. In this role you will collaborate internationally while working in direct partnership with our US-based developer. The team is on the cusp of expanding the product to millions of users, and we need full-stack developer talent to match that ambition. We require skills in cloud development and wearable data processing that will take our platform to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Development & Architecture
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable web applications using PHP (Laravel/Symfony) and Angular
• Lead technical scoping and architecture decisions for new features and integrations
• Optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability as the platform scales to millions of users
• Own specific areas of the codebase and ensure long-term maintainability
API & Integrations
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate third-party services
• Support and expand third-party integrations with company-defined APIs
• Evaluate and implement wearable data processing pipelines and cloud-based data flows
Code Quality & Development Excellence
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that meets production standards
• Conduct thorough code reviews and actively contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems with minimal oversight
• Champion security and data protection best practices across the codebase
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, QA testers, scientists, and geneticists to translate requirements into working software
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to implement responsive, user-friendly interfaces from wireframes and mockups
• Bridge the gap between an established long-tenured team and new workflows — communicate proactively across time zones via Slack and Zoom
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies with camera on and meaningful contribution
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Stay current with emerging technologies and proactively propose improvements
• Contribute to the team's technical roadmap and help shape architectural decisions
• Apply developer skills in ways that directly improve the health outcomes of 3X4's users.

Skills & Qualifications
Required
• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development
• Expert-level proficiency in PHP (Laravel, Symfony, or comparable frameworks)
• Strong experience with Angular v10+
• Solid command of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases
• Deep familiarity with RESTful APIs and JSON
• Version control using Git, branching strategies, code review workflows

• Proven Agile/Scrum experience in a high-growth or fast-moving environment
• Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Familiarity with unit testing and test-driven development
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
• Experience with wearable data processing or IoT integrations
• Background in health tech, genomics, nutrigenomics, or biotech platforms
• Prior experience scaling a product from a small user base to millions
• Exposure to AI/ML integration within a production web application

Work Environment & Expectations
This position is full-time and requires you to be in the office in Miami, FL.
• Travel may be required depending on the role
• Collaboration with global teams across multiple time zones
• Active participation in Slack is part of daily workflow

Compensation and Benefits
• Compensation Range: $135,000 - $155,000 (dependent on experience).
• Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and life insurance. 75% of premiums covered by 3X4 Genetics.
