Position Title: Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) – Applied AI

Location: Anywhere in US (Remote)

Role Summary:

As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) in Applied AI, you are the Agent Engineer and the primary driver for customers’ most critical AI initiatives. You take initial conversational prototypes and transform them into production-ready solutions, owning the end-to-end engineering lifecycle, including the transition from proof-of-concept to real-world business value and scalable, secure AI systems.

This is a high-travel, high-impact role focused on leading technical delivery for Conversational AI pilots and establishing the first Customer User Journeys (CUJs) for strategic customers on-site. The role requires deep expertise in software engineering, MLOps, and cloud infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead developer for complex Conversational AI and CX applications, transitioning from rapid prototypes to production-grade agentic workflows (e.g., multi-agent systems, MCP servers) that drive measurable business outcomes.
• Architect and develop conversational solutions that provide seamless integration between enterprise Conversational AI platforms and customer infrastructure, including APIs, legacy systems, data repositories, and security frameworks.
• Build high-performance evaluation (Eval) pipelines and observability frameworks to optimize complex agentic workloads, focusing on reasoning loops, tool selection, reliability, accuracy, latency, and production-grade security.
• Identify repeatable implementation patterns and technical challenges, converting them into reusable accelerators, reference architectures, or product enhancement recommendations.
• Partner with customer engineering teams to establish industry-standard development practices and ensure long-term solution success and user adoption.
• Lead the deployment, troubleshooting, optimization, and scaling of AI-powered applications in enterprise environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of software development experience using Python or similar programming languages.
• Experience architecting and deploying AI solutions on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience deploying infrastructure using Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
• Experience building full-stack applications that integrate with enterprise IT systems and customer-facing environments.
• Hands-on experience implementing and customizing Conversational AI, Virtual Assistant, Customer Engagement, or Contact Center AI solutions.
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise APIs, databases, authentication systems, and business applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience implementing multi-agent systems and advanced agentic patterns such as ReAct, self-reflection, planning, memory management, and tool orchestration.
• Experience debugging agent behavior, optimizing tool selection, and tracing distributed workflows across services to identify and resolve issues in real time.
• Experience connecting AI agents to enterprise knowledge bases and optimizing RAG architectures to improve accuracy and reduce hallucinations.
• Proven track record of troubleshooting live, high-traffic production systems during business-critical events.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

The pay range for this role is $150,000- $230,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
