About the job
Aumbre is looking for UX Researchers with a formal design background and strong research fundamentals.
Before You Apply
This role has two non-negotiable requirements:
- You must have completed a formal design course / degree / programme and understand the technical fundamentals of design and UX.
- This is a UX Research role, not a Product Design role. We are looking for someone whose primary strength is research, not someone looking to transition into or primarily practice product design.
If you do not meet either of these requirements, please do not apply.
Your Role
As a UX Researcher, you will:
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative UX research based on the problem being investigated.
- Understand users, their behaviors, motivations, needs and pain points through structured research.
- Conduct and analyse user interviews, usability studies, surveys and other appropriate research methods.
- Convert research findings into clear insights, patterns and actionable recommendations.
- Understand the product and business context well enough to ask the right research questions, rather than simply collecting information.
- Work closely with designers and product teams to ensure research informs product decisions.
- Clearly communicate your methodology, findings and reasoning.
Who Should Apply
We receive a large number of applications, so please read this section carefully before applying.
You should apply only if you genuinely have:
- A formal education in design and a strong understanding of UX fundamentals.
- Strong understanding of UX research methodologies and when to use them.
- The ability to independently structure a research problem and determine the appropriate research approach.
- Strong skills in user interviews, usability testing, qualitative analysis and synthesis.
- The ability to identify behavioral patterns and derive meaningful insights from research data.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- The ability to communicate research findings clearly and connect them to product and user problems.
- A genuine interest in understanding people and their behavior, rather than simply validating design decisions.
If your primary strength is Product Design, UI Design or visual design, this is not the role for you.
This is a research-first role. You will be evaluated primarily on how well you can understand a research problem, structure an investigation, conduct research, analyse what you find and derive meaningful insights.
If these are not your strengths, please do not apply. This helps you avoid spending time on a process that isn't aligned with your experience, and helps us focus our time on candidates who genuinely fit the role.
Interview Process
01. Profile Selection
Shortlisted candidates receive a form with questions about their experience, research thinking and approach.
02. First Interview
Candidates whose responses demonstrate the required skill set move to the first interview.
03. Research Assignment
Candidates who clear the interview receive a practical UX research assignment.
04. Personality Round
A final conversation to understand how you think, communicate, collaborate and approach problems.
05. Offer
Successful candidates receive an offer from Aumbre.
