About the role-

You will be the finance function at Simplismart: the single owner of everything from the monthly payment run to the audited consolidated financials, across an India parent and a US subsidiary, serving customers and partners across multiple regions.
Roughly half the job is closing books and staying compliant. The other half is design: deciding which entity invoices whom, where cash sits, how we move money across borders without leaking 2-3% to fees and FX, and how our numbers hold up under investor and auditor scrutiny.

What is expected from you-

• Financial Close & Reporting: Own monthly close, MIS, consolidated reporting, intercompany reconciliations, FX translation, and annual statutory audits across India and the US.
• Revenue Recognition: Establish and manage revenue recognition for consumption-based and committed contracts, including prepaid credits, deferred/unbilled revenue, overages, and multi-year commitments.
• AR, AP & Working Capital: Own invoicing, collections, DSO, vendor payments, payment calendars, approvals, and working capital management.
• Treasury & FX: Manage banking relationships, multi-currency accounts, EEFC accounts, forex exposure, cash management, and natural hedges across USD inflows and cloud/GPU costs.
• Cross-border Finance: Design and manage the invoicing and payment structure between India and US entities, including withholding tax, treaty positions, and remittance documentation.
• Tax & Compliance: Own India and US tax and statutory compliance, including GST, TDS, advance tax, ROC/MCA, FEMA/RBI reporting, transfer pricing, US federal/state taxes, sales tax, franchise tax, and payroll compliance.
• Audit, Diligence & Fundraising: Lead finance-related due diligence, maintain the data room, prepare investor/board reporting, manage financial schedules and reconciliations, and respond directly to diligence queries.
• Controls & Processes: Build strong financial controls around approvals, delegation of authority, vendor onboarding, payments, and segregation of duties.
• Unit Economics: Build reporting around cloud and GPU costs, customer-level gross margins, workload profitability, capacity utilisation, and other key financial metrics.

What We’re Looking For-

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, controllership, or a similar role.
• CA / MBA (Finance) preferred; CS is an added advantage.
• Prior startup experience, preferably in a technology/SaaS company.
• Strong understanding of India & US accounting, taxation, compliance, and cross-border transactions.
• Hands-on experience with monthly close, audits, MIS, AR/AP, treasury, and working capital.
• Familiarity with revenue recognition for SaaS/consumption-based businesses.
• Working knowledge of GST, TDS, FEMA, RBI, transfer pricing, and international taxation.
• Ability to build finance processes and controls from scratch and work independently.
• Strong analytical, ownership, and communication skills, with the ability to work directly with founders, investors, auditors, banks, and advisors.
