Lead Engineer (Java)

About the role

Join a newly forming engineering team as a senior technical member, where you'll help build, deliver, and maintain products from the ground up. You'll bring strong backend expertise, take ownership of technical decisions, and lead a team to build reliable, scalable software.

Location: Hyderabad

What you'll do

• Lead backend engineering initiatives from design and development through delivery and maintenance
• Own technical decisions and contribute to the architecture of scalable, maintainable systems
• Build and deliver robust applications using Java and Spring
• Work across the stack when needed, with exposure to ReactJS being a strong advantage
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to break down complex problems and deliver practical solutions
• Define and imlement engineering best practices
• Ensure code quality, and long-term maintainability of your team's code
• Support operational aspects of the systems and have a good understanding of DevOps and production environments
• Mentor and guide other engineers

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in backend development
• 2+ years of experience leading a team
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, system design, and scalable software development
• Good understanding of operations, production environments, and DevOps practices
• Full-stack experience is preferred, with ReactJS being a strong advantage
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of projects end to end
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
