Role Overview
As a QA Engineer II, you develop and execute exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality. As a key member of our Quality Assurance (QA) team, you create and support application programming interface (API), web, and mobile automation frameworks and tests. You design, build, test, and deploy effective test automation solutions for web and mobile applications. You bring a strong understanding of product quality standards, automation, and processes and apply sound judgment to determine where automation and artificial intelligence (AI) can improve quality, efficiency, and test coverage. You are motivated, enthusiastic, and focused, with a passion for quality assurance engineering and continuous improvement.
Our team is passionate, empathetic, hard working, and above all else focused on improving the lives of our service professionals (our Pros). Our success is their success.
What you do each day:
- Direct AI agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP)-based tooling (i.e. Playwright MCP) to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts
- Create and maintain comprehensive test plans, including functional, regression, performance, and integration testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage aligns with product requirements and feature development
- Identify, document, and track bugs through issue-tracking systems (i.e. Jira) and ensure timely resolution
- Conduct manual testing where necessary to ensure product functionality and user experience meet standards
- Implement and improve continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) testing pipelines
- Analyze test failures and use AI to support root cause analysis, flaky test triage, locator refresh, regression optimization, ongoing test maintenance, and coverage gap analysis
- Conduct API testing and work closely with developers to verify back-end functionality
- Provide feedback on design and usability to ensure an optimal user experience
- Identify opportunities where AI can improve squad efficiency and run lightweight experiments to validate them
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in quality assurance or software testing with a focus on test automation
- Proficiency in automated testing tools (i.e. Playwright, Selenium, Cypress) and scripting languages (i.e. Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java)
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted testing tools and MCP-based test generation and execution (i.e. Maestro MCP, Playwright MCP)
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, defect tracking, and automated testing frameworks
- Experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks (i.e. Jenkins, GitLab)
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to improve workflows, streamline execution, or enhance outputs
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
What will help you succeed:
- Apply an iterative mindset to AI, treating unsuccessful outputs as signals to refine prompts, add context, and adjust constraints rather than abandoning the approach
- Exercise sound judgment around agentic scope boundaries, including determining which tasks are safe to delegate and which require closer supervision
- Demonstrate exceptional breadth of interest through tangible, self-initiated ventures or deep community involvement; you love trying new things and may possess a demonstrated history of successfully pivoting or starting over in life and work
- Bring strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Apply excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when identifying issues and developing solutions
- Turn successful AI workflows into reusable, shareable assets
- Collaborate effectively across multiple teams through strong communication and teamwork
- Maintain a proactive mindset toward learning new tools, technologies, and testing techniques
- Thrive in a fast-paced, agile development environment with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
Compensation starts at $4,600 USD per month.
