As we continue to grow, we're looking for a Vendor Manager who is passionate about building relationships, creating scalable processes and developing a world-class network of professional linguists that enables our Project Management team to deliver outstanding service.

As Vendor Manager, you'll be responsible for developing, growing and maintaining a high-performing global network of translators, reviewers and language specialists. Your work will directly influence delivery quality, turnaround times, customer satisfaction and operational efficiency across the business.
This role combines recruitment, relationship management, process improvement and strategic vendor development. You'll work closely with Project Managers to ensure the right linguists are available at the right time, while continuously improving our vendor experience and expanding our global talent pool.

Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Source and recruit highly qualified freelance translators and language professionals across multiple language pairs and specialist industries.
- Build proactive recruitment pipelines for high-demand and emerging language combinations.
- Develop sourcing strategies using industry platforms, professional networks, universities and social media.
- Maintain a continuous pipeline of qualified vendors to support business growth.
- Vendor Onboarding & Quality
- Manage the end-to-end vendor onboarding process.
- Verify qualifications, certifications and professional experience.
- Coordinate language testing and quality assessments where required.
- Ensure all vendor documentation, agreements and compliance requirements are complete.
- Continuously improve the onboarding experience.
- Vendor Relationship Management
- Build strong long-term relationships with our global linguist community.
- Act as the primary point of contact for vendor enquiries.
- Resolve issues relating to onboarding, assignments, availability and payments.
- Promote high engagement and encourage long-term vendor loyalty.
- Preferred Vendor Programme
- Develop and maintain a Preferred Vendor Programme for key language pairs.
- Negotiate competitive rates while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor vendor performance, responsiveness, quality and reliability.
- Recommend preferred vendors based on objective performance data.
- Vendor Database Management
- Maintain an accurate, organised and up-to-date vendor database.
- Ensure language pairs, subject matter expertise, certifications, rates and availability remain current.
- Regularly audit vendor records and remove outdated information.
- Operational Support
- Partner closely with Project Managers to source linguists for urgent and specialist projects.
- Support difficult language recruitment and last-minute sourcing.
- Identify potential resource risks before they impact customer delivery.
- Help improve fulfilment rates and turnaround times.
- Process Improvement
- Continuously improve vendor recruitment, onboarding and engagement processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiencies.
- Develop documentation, templates and standard operating procedures.
- Monitor recruitment and vendor performance metrics to support business decisions.
- Vendor Engagement
- Maintain regular communication with our vendor community.
- Share company updates, opportunities and best practices.
- Help strengthen Translayte's employer brand within the language services industry.
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and relationship-driven, with a passion for building strong professional communities.
You'll ideally have:
- Experience in Vendor Management, Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, HR or Supplier Management.
- Experience recruiting or managing freelance professionals.
- Strong stakeholder and relationship management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Outstanding organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to prioritise multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced remote environment.
- Experience creating or improving operational processes.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Confidence working independently within a remote team.
- Nice to Have
- Experience within the translation, localisation or language services industry.
- Experience using Translation Management Systems (TMS).
- Experience working with CRM, ATS or vendor management platforms.
- Knowledge of CAT tools and localisation workflows.
- Experience analysing operational data and reporting on KPIs.
Working Hours:
This is a fully remote position with weekly shift schedules
