The Opportunity
Most startups burn cash to find a market - Symmetric, we’ve spent the last few years winning it. We’ve been profitable from Year 1, remain employee-owned and doubled in 2025 with line of sight to repeat that growth in 2026.
Our product is the data engine behind the world’s most sophisticated healthcare systems - 17 of the Gartner Top 25 supply chains already rely on Symmetric. We provide cutting-edge solutions that streamline procurement, item master data management, and improve efficiency across healthcare systems.
We have a fully remote team that's making a big impact on the healthcare supply chain by working closely with enterprises (health systems, hospitals, consulting firms, etc.), regulatory agencies and industry groups.
Role Overview
This is not a traditional SaaS onboarding role. At Symmetric, you are the Strategic Conductor of a high-stakes enterprise transformation. You will lead the delivery & implementation of our product at our customers, partnering with our Solutions Architects (SAs) and Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to navigate multi-year ERP migrations (Workday, Oracle, Infor) for our top Customers.
Crucially, your work will allow our Chief Data Officer and the Solution Architects to focus on data quality and technical architecture. You own the politics, the partners, and the project plans, ensuring our technical experts stay focused on high-level architecture while you drive the execution to the finish line.
We are seeking a Senior Implementation Project Manager to lead customer implementations from kickoff through go-live. This role is responsible for project managing new customer deployments, coordinating across internal teams, and ensuring customers are successfully onboarded on time and within scope.
The Implementation Project Manager works closely with Customer Success, Product, Engineering, Solutions, Data Operations, and Sales to deliver a seamless transition from sale to steady-state usage. Over time, this role can grow into a leadership position responsible for defining implementation standards and building an implementation team.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Implementations & Project Management
- Own end-to-end customer implementations from contract signature through go-live
- Lead customer kickoff calls, define project plans, timelines, milestones, and success criteria
- Manage implementation scope, risks, dependencies, and change requests
- Ensure implementations are delivered on time and meet customer requirements
Program-Level Coordination
- Act as the primary peer to Big 4 consulting partners of our customers. You ensure Symmetric’s data milestones are synchronized with the broader ERP migration schedule.
- Act as a trusted advisor to our customers
- Coordinate closely with Data, Engineering, Product and Support teams to resolve issues and unblock progress
- Partner with Sales and Customer Success to ensure smooth handoffs and aligned expectations
Technical & Operational Enablement
- Support configuration, integrations, data onboarding, and workflow setup (as applicable)
- Help customers understand system requirements, implementation steps, and best practices
- Validate readiness for go-live and lead go-live support activities
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain implementation documentation, templates, and playbooks
- Identify recurring implementation challenges and propose process improvements
- Help standardize implementation timelines, milestones, and customer deliverables
Technical Handoff
- You are the final authority on technical readiness. Ensure the item master is technically verified and the necessary Phase Gates are passed before handing the account to the CSM for long-term adoption.
- Ensure clean handoff to Customer Success after go-live, including documentation of goals, risks, and next steps
- Participate in early post-launch check-ins to ensure customer stability and adoption
Qualifications
Required
- 5-8+ Years of Experience in implementation, onboarding, project management, technology consulting, or related professional services
- Experience working with (or for) firms like Deloitte, Huron, Accenture, or KPMG.
- Experience with Workday or Oracle Cloud go-live and the data dependencies required for success.
- Experience leading customer-facing implementations in SaaS, healthcare IT, ERP, CRM or similar B2B technology environments
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple implementations in parallel
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You must have the ability to translate technical data mapping logic into business impact for non-technical executive stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in fast-paced environments
Preferred
- Experience navigating implementations with Gartner Top 25 health systems, and Big 4 Consulting firms
- Familiarity with implementation methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
- Experience with ERP (Workday, Oracle, Infor) integrations, ERP data migrations, or system configuration
- Prior experience architecting, building and scaling implementation processes
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- In 30 Days you have taken over the project management of key accounts, freeing the CDO and SA to focus purely on technical architecture.
- In 60 Days you have learned the Symmetric Implementation Playbook and can operate as a self-sufficient project lead for Tier A accounts.
- In 90 Days you have successfully maintained a green status across all Tier A/B accounts with predictable timelines.
- In 1 Year you have formalized the Symmetric Implementation Playbook, building the gates and templates that allow us to scale to hundreds of accounts.
- Customers launch on time and with clear expectations
- Implementation timelines are predictable and repeatable
- Cross-functional teams are aligned and informed throughout the process
- Customer Success receives well-prepared accounts ready for long-term adoption
