About the job
About Ennote
Ennote Security is the identity-driven secret manager unifying human collaboration and machine automation. Our platform centralizes governance for passwords, environment variables, API keys, and infrastructure certificates - replacing scattered .env files and legacy vaults with a single, hardware-backed source of truth.
Ennote is live in production and used by engineering teams to manage secrets across their Kubernetes infrastructure, with real-time sync, native SSO/RBAC, and immutable audit logging. We're building toward SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification, and growing our customer base among engineering teams who depend on us to protect their most sensitive infrastructure credentials.
The Role
We're hiring a Business Development Representative to help us find and close the teams who need what we've built. You'll be the first conversation most prospects have with Ennote - identifying companies with real secret-management pain, opening the door, and moving qualified conversations toward a close.
This isn't cold-calling a script. You're selling into a real, technical buyer - engineering leads, platform teams, security teams - and you'll need to understand enough about what we do to speak their language and earn a real conversation.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting: Identify and reach out to companies likely to have real secret-management pain - scaling engineering teams, Kubernetes-heavy infrastructure, security-conscious buyers.
- Outbound: Run outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, and other channels to generate qualified conversations.
- Qualification: Understand a prospect's infrastructure and pain points well enough to know if they're a real fit, and hand off qualified opportunities cleanly.
- Pipeline ownership: Track and manage your pipeline, follow up consistently, and keep deals moving.
- Closing: Work deals through to close, ideally owning the full cycle rather than just handing off qualified leads.
- Feedback loop: Bring what you learn from prospects back to the team - what resonates, what doesn't, what objections keep coming up.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in outbound sales or business development, ideally selling into technical or security-conscious buyers.
- Comfortable learning technical product details well enough to hold a credible conversation with engineers and security teams.
- Self-directed - you don't need a script handed to you to start good conversations.
- Resilient and consistent - outbound is a numbers game, and you keep showing up.
- Genuinely curious about the product and the problem it solves, not just the deal.
Compensation
This role is structured as equity plus commission, not a base salary. You'll earn a strong commission on every deal you close, plus an ongoing monthly commission on that customer's revenue for as long as they stay with us - so your income grows with the accounts you bring in, not just the initial close. On top of that, you'll receive equity, giving you real ownership in the company you're helping grow.
Once we close funding or hit sustainable revenue, our plan is to move this into a paid position. If you close well, this can be a very lucrative role, and one where you're rewarded for the long-term value of the customers you bring in, not just the signature.
