About the job
About Ennote
Ennote Security is the identity-driven secret manager unifying human collaboration and machine automation. Our platform centralizes governance for passwords, environment variables, API keys, and infrastructure certificates - replacing scattered .env files and legacy vaults with a single, hardware-backed source of truth.
Ennote is live in production and used by engineering teams to manage secrets, with real-time sync, native SSO/RBAC, and immutable audit logging. Our architecture is built on a strict zero-persistence principle, using post-quantum cryptography and hardware-backed enclaves so plaintext secrets never touch disk. We're building toward SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certification, and growing our customer base among engineering teams who depend on us to protect their most sensitive infrastructure credentials.
The Role
We're closing our seed round and looking for someone who genuinely knows how to get capital and non-dilutive funding into a company - not just make introductions, but help us build the story, find the right investors and grant programs, and get deals across the line.
This isn't a passive advisory seat. We need someone who will actively work our fundraising pipeline: identifying and approaching the right investors for our stage and sector, navigating relevant grant programs (government innovation grants, cybersecurity-specific funds, R&D tax credit programs), and helping us present a credible, well-structured case to both.
Responsibilities
- Investor sourcing and outreach: Identify and approach angels, seed-stage VCs, and strategic investors who fit our stage, sector, and geography.
- Grant identification: Research and pursue relevant non-dilutive funding - government innovation grants, cybersecurity/tech-sector grants, and R&D tax credit programs we may be eligible for.
- Pitch and materials support: Help refine our pitch deck, data room, and financial narrative to be genuinely investor- and grant-reviewer-ready.
- Process management: Help manage the fundraising pipeline - tracking conversations, follow-ups, term sheets, and next steps, so nothing stalls from lack of process.
- Deal support: Support due diligence requests and help move term sheets and grant applications through to close.
- Strategic input: Advise on round structure, valuation expectations, and how to sequence investor conversations with grant applications for the best outcome.
What We're Looking For
- A real track record of helping startups raise capital and/or secure grants - not just general business advisory experience.
- An existing network of investors and/or familiarity with relevant grant programs (Canadian/USA innovation grants and cybersecurity-sector funding are a strong plus, given we're based in Vancouver, BC).
- Comfortable being hands-on - this is active work, not occasional check-ins.
- Strong communication skills - you'll be representing us directly to investors and grant reviewers.
- Genuine belief in the problem we're solving, not just the deal.
Compensation
This role is structured as equity plus a success fee, not a salary.
- Equity: A meaningful advisor equity stake, vesting over the engagement.
- Success fee: A cash success fee on capital actually raised through your direct efforts, paid on close - a standard structure for people who help close funding, not just advise on it.
- Grants: A success fee on non-dilutive funding (grants) secured through your efforts, structured separately since grants don't dilute the cap table the way investment does. If you're someone who's genuinely good at getting capital in the door, this is built to reward that directly.
