About the job
About NOVA
NOVA is building agentic AI for financial institutions. We started by reimagining how finance teams work inside Excel — and we're now expanding into a broader platform that automates the analytical, operational, and reporting workflows that banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions depend on every day.
We're a fast-paced startup and are quickly gaining traction with various financial institutions.
We're a small, ambitious team building fast. As our Growth Intern, you won't be fetching coffee or updating spreadsheets in the background — you'll be in the room where deals get made, learning to sell category-defining technology to some of the most demanding buyers in the world.
The Role
- As a Growth Intern at NOVA, you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founder on sales and go-to-market. This is a rare, front-row seat: you'll get direct exposure to how a startup lands and expands inside high finance, and you'll be trusted with real responsibility from day one.
- You'll help find the right buyers, get us in front of them, prep the pitch, sit in on the calls, and drive the follow-through that turns interest into signed customers. If you want to learn how enterprise sales and GTM actually work — not from a textbook, but from live at-bats against real financial institutions — this is the seat.
- This is a high-ownership, high-trust role for someone who is relentlessly resourceful, comfortable talking to senior people, and genuinely excited about selling frontier AI into finance.
What You'll Do
- Get us in the room. Research and build target lists of banks, asset managers, hedge funds, and other financial institutions; identify the right decision-makers; and run outbound (email, LinkedIn, calls) to book meetings.
- Sit in the high-finance rooms. Join founder-led sales conversations with senior finance and technology leaders — first observing, then contributing, and eventually owning parts of the pitch yourself.
- Sell the tech. Learn NOVA's product cold and help articulate why our agentic AI changes how financial institutions work. Prep demos, handle follow-up questions, and keep deals moving.
- Own the GTM machinery. Keep the CRM clean, track the pipeline, manage follow-ups, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Sharpen the pitch. Help build and refine decks, one-pagers, case studies, email sequences, and other sales collateral.
- Run experiments. Test outreach channels, messaging, and ICP hypotheses; measure what works; and double down on the winners.
- Bring back the field intel. Synthesize what prospects tell us — objections, needs, competitors — and feed it back to the founder and product team.
- Represent NOVA. Show up at industry events, conferences, and meetups to build relationships and generate leads.
What We're Looking For
- A genuine interest in sales, GTM, and building a company — you want to close, not just support.
- Strong communication: you can hold your own in a conversation with a senior banker or a portfolio manager and not blink.
- Relentless resourcefulness — you find the email, the intro, the angle, the answer.
- Curiosity about finance and AI, and the drive to go deep on both quickly.
- A bias toward action: you'd rather send the message and learn than wait for the perfect script.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ownership instinct to run problems to the finish line in an early-stage environment.
- Coachability and a low-ego, high-output approach — you take feedback and get better fast.
- Able to work hybrid from Mumbai, or remotely across compatible time zones.
Bonus Points
- Exposure to fintech, financial services, banking, or capital markets — through work, internships, coursework, or serious side interest.
- Prior experience in sales, business development, or GTM (even informal — clubs, freelancing, your own venture).
- Familiarity with CRM and outbound tools, or a knack for picking them up fast.
- Comfort talking about AI, LLMs, and automation — enough to be credible in a technical room.
- A track record of building something from nothing: a project, a community, a small business, a following.
