About the job
Objective: To lead the on-site/remote installation of our Ubuntu-based NMS ((Network Monitoring System) and ensure 100% visibility of client network assets.
Key Responsibilities:
System Deployment: Install and harden Ubuntu Server instances on client hardware or virtualized environments (KVM/ESXi).
Network Onboarding: Configure network devices (Switches, Routers, Firewalls) to communicate with the NMS via SNMP (v2c/v3), SSH, and gNMI/Streaming Telemetry.
Custom Scripting: Write Bash or Python scripts to automate bulk device onboarding and data validation.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose connectivity issues between the NMS and client infrastructure (VPNs, VLANs, ACLs).
Documentation: Create a "Site Deployment Report" for every successful installation.
Technical Requirements:
Expert Linux Admin: Deep knowledge of Ubuntu (systemd, ufw, netplan, logs).
Network Protocols: Proficiency in SNMP, ICMP, Syslog, and NetFlow/IPFIX.
Security: Experience with SSH key management and securing Linux environments.
Preferred: Experience with existing NMS tools like Zabbix, Nagios, or Prometheus/Grafana.
